His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves h ad failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
[/color][/color][color="#000000"][color="#000000"]He declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home without the burglar suing you for assault.[/color][/color][color="#000000"][color="#000000"]
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

You know what kills me? The people that want to sue the tobacco companies when a family member dies of lung cancer or some other smoking related disease. I am 44 years old and for as long as I can remember, I have known that smoking is bad for you and can cause a number of fatal diseases. Yet people want to blame the tobacco industry for people smoking. Yes, maybe 60 years ago they can be blamed for putting out a product that was bad for you. But is there anyone today that doesn't know that smoking is bad? No. While I can feel sympathy for the people that are inflicted witha smoking related disease and their families, I have to wonder why did they keep smoking when they knew it was bad? There are so many products and methods to help people quit smoking. It's hard, I know that. I did it. But if you want to live bad enough, you do it. To turn around and sue a company because you didn't have the willpower to stop something that you knew could kill you is ridiculous. Maybe we should start suing the heroin dealers too.
