Fucking mundane housework sucks

OK this belongs here. I need to rant.

Ladies, and anyone else with the disgusting job of cleaning your kitchen floor (yeah Sin, your poll got me twisted on floors) do NOT use Future floor polish!

Jesus H Christ.... my floor is a fucked up disgusting mess because of this shit. We totally gutted and remodeled our kitchen. It's a beautiful modern masterpiece and we busted our ass putting that floor down.... in fact, I put the floor down because I wanted it done a certain way.

It's the nice retro looking black / white checked pattern. Well I wanted to protect my floor a little 'extra' because of the small space which makes a greater high traffic area and the dogs. Their feet and nails can do quite a bit of damage.

So I am using this shit good for nothing Future and all of a sudden my white squares are starting to look yellow. I look at the bottle of this shit and it says that I need to remove it every few applications with a SPECIFIC product made to remove it. ::bang::

Fuck. So I run out to the store in search of this. I went to 15 different stores in 4 different towns and not one person ever heard of this stuff.

I tried scrubbing with straight ammonia. Clorox. scrubbie pads. The works. Nada, zip, zilch. Not a friggin dent.

So the peeling is getting worse and I decide to call the company. There's a phone number on the bottle. I got a brand new unopened bottle of this shit in the house too. Well, they're pretty good! Took them 6 weeks but they sent a bottle of the remover. (big whoop. the bottle is small and I'm PRAYING it is enough)

So, I look at the instructions and fuck me. I am NOT doing this. I can't physically. The boyfriend actually volunteered! Yay! I need this shit off my floors before the holidays. I want to have a New Years party this year.

Anyway, guess what I need to mix with this crap? Yep you guessed it- Ammonia! ::bang::

I have to get scalding hot water, mix like 14 cup of that shit to 1 cup ammonia soak a rag and lay the rag on the floor - a rag like an old large towel. Let this sit for 15 mins and then SCRUB this shit off with a stiff brush! It is recommended to do this one area at a time as described instead of wetting the whole floor with the solutionor it can make the nasty caked on funk harder to remove! ::blink::

This is the procedure to remove this crap EVERY time you need to remove it! Fucking bullshit stuff. I'll never use it again! It was easier to put the floor in than to remove floor polish!

OK Update on the floor fiasco.

We worked together. Managed to try this method on only 6 tiles and this shit does NOT work. It does not even soften the built up crap.

I did this kitchen in 05 and only used the Future shit 3 friggin' times and it yellowed. So I stopped using it.

Anyway, after two hours of scrubbing according to directions, our lungs were burned, eyes on fire, and we were wearing masks. The product didn't soften at all to be removed and they say it should take up to 6 layers off.

we gave up after those 6 tiles. I called them and complained again. I told them I can see if it's going to take some effort if the stuff was actually going to come up but it does not even begin to work!

So I after going round and round explaining to her over and over again that, "Yes I followed the directions. Yes, I soaked the floor. Yes I used a nylon scrub brush." I said that they really should check the back of the bottle because it says, "To remove waxy buildup from OTHER products." OTHER PRODUCTS being the clue that it really won't work with YOUR nasty product.

She then goes on some long song and dance telling me that they tested the product to remove, blah blah blah whereby I proceeded to ask her if they used a machine to remove this crud or a human being scrubbing on her hands and knees?

She had nothing but silence for me on that.

Then she offered to send me $40 to have someone professionally come in and remove it. I told her that won't even get me an estimate in this part of the country. Why should I pay for someone to remove what their product damaged?

So I also then told her my kitchen is small and anyone coming in with a big machine will not do much more than destroy my cabinets and appliances so that was out of the question.

I then told her it actually would be cheaper and easier to get a new floor put in. I asked for $1000 for a new floor. They are sending me an application to be reimbursed for a new floor. they're getting off cheap at a grand.

Here's my kitchen before and after pics. You can see why I'm so upset my new kitchen floor looks like crap. and the other pic is one of the nasty funk that is on all the white tiles on my floor now.
