140,000 Ignored Orders. Should We Care??
#1
Let me ask you something and you need to be honest with your response. If there is a state wide alert ordering you to leave immediately because a massive deadly storm is about to hit that will potentially kill you, but you choose to stay, should we care if you either 1) potentially die or 2) are stranded and might die?

Should millions and millions of dollars be spent making heroic efforts to save these people. Should resources from all over the country be sent to Galveston, Texas to risk their own lives searching through debris, waste high water, and destroyed buildings to find people who might be trapped?

NO. No, no, no, no, NOOOOO.

If these people were too stupid to leave and the government even TOLD them "if you stay you are on your own", then that is exactly what needs to happen. The consequences of your actions and your stupidity are that you make your own fucking way, if you can. If you die in the process, well, serves your dumb ass right when you had all the warning, and all the time in the world to get the fuck out of the way. Everyone seems to have this "it won't happen to me" attitude. Well, I'm here to tell you, and you should have learned, that even the baddest motherfucker out there can't take on Mother Nature. Idiots. Let 'em drown and rot.

If you are going to be completely stupid, you need to have a list of these idiots.

It should be mandatory that if you insist on staying, register this demented decision with your local police, or better yet, the local National Guard. Then when you need help, it's easier to pinpoint your final demise thus cutting down costs to hunt down your dumb ass and find your corpse.

If you're going to be dead, at least make it easy to find you.

This is Mother natures method of "birth control" They need to send in Oprah she will save them with Geraldo standing steadfast by her side reporting on her generous tax deductable goodwill.

MF - thanks for fixing my error in the title earlier.

It is just nuts to me that it is acceptable for us (the country) to just run to the aid of everyone all of the time. I fully agree on a last second disaster or something unexpected, but with technology what it is today we do know about most of these hurricanes well in advance. I agree about the "Dumbass List" that should be made to record the jackass who just don't listen or choose to ignore.

You know what? Up until hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans a few years ago, nobody paid any attention to the warnings to get out. When a storm hit a coastal region, we all felt bad and did what we could to help out.

With the knowledge and tracking technology we have nowadays, I agree, there are not many reasons to stay around when ordered to evacuate.

Call me Sympathy Bitch if you want, but I still do care and feel for those who decided for whatever reason to ride the storm out. And I would expect any and all abled bodies to help them regardless of their poor decision.

I feel like I'm having a case of deja vu. Why do I feel like I'm repeating myself?

Yah the Dumbass List will also cut down on lives lost and cost.

Say you need to now go in and find anyone left alive, but those people's whereabouts are not known and they are very hurt on top of it and in dire need of medical attention.

The normal way to search is by 'grid'. You start at point A and continue along searching the rubble until you find someone. This can be detrimental to those still there and in need because if you know where they are to begin with, at least you can go directly to the houses on the list first, then sift and clean up later.

You can also avoid time lost searching using the grid method because now you know where they are and can even save the dope's life.
