I have been wearing bifocals since I was 32. I want the eye surgery but I am totally weirded out by anyone touching my eyes. Getting an eye exam is pure torture for me. I wanted to get contacts last timeI got glasses but I have a weird astigmatism too and the doctor said I would still have to wear glasses. Either to read or to see far away. So I just stuck with the glasses.

Wow Ant, those are great prices! I wonder how much they charge for lenses? I can't find those prices anywhere. =p

I'm kind of concerned about the measurements, etc... the tech spent a lot of time doing arcane things with her magic tools while I waited. I don't see how they can do that without having the person there.

Syber the prices include lenses. I think progressives and more expensive / complicated ones are more.

A couple of the sites you can "try them on" virtually.


Lumpy, I've had good success so far. Try a really cheap pair after you get your new ones and compare them.

I'm about sick of these God damn kids and their friends running in and out of my house and opening up the fridge every 5 mins. When I was a kid my parents told me it's a nice day out and not to come back untill dinner time. It was 110 degrees out and I had to drink out of the garden hose when I got thirsty.
