who sang that? tammy wynette or some other whining hillbilly?
in GENERAL, divorce is NOT limited to the ignorant, low-class or pathetic. in 99% of all the domestic violence calls i have attended, divorce would have been the best thing that ever happened to the victim and especially to the children. sometimes people are not aware that their bride or groom has the potential or proclivity for violence. or other aberrant behaviors. 'for better or worse' does not include getting the crap beaten out of them. there are other legitimate grounds as well, and the law recognizes that. i wish marital homicide victims and perpetrators had opted for divorce. often divorce is not to be pitied or judged by others on the outside, but commended for parties seeking peace of mind. we excise cancer don't we?

That was a great post, but I have a question.

What if the person who got divorced really didn't work on or improve any of their big issues AND married the SAME type of person and repeated the same pattern for a second divorce? Especially if their parents had the same pattern. Then throw in that this person judges, attacks, mocks, and slams others for all sorts of reasons. Then can we on the "outside" judge this cat-loving fuck and tell her to stop being such a gross, low-class, privacy-infringing, drama-saturated bitch?

That could be a valid question if it was based on fact & not assumption.

to reply to Frank, people who practice serial marriage and divorce often do need to gain insight to break inherent patterns.
again, my topic is GENERAL.

I'd comment on what a great post that was, JB, but that would just encourage Frank to wring his dainty little hands and have another one of his moral meltdowns.

Thanks Lumpy. Frank, i think, like many of us, was raised in a family and time when divorce was shameful. our parents were together for life. some of us, despite a great example, simply couldn't manage that. much had to do with economics back then. or as in the case of my parents, lifetime love. but previous generations were dependent on men working, woman staying in the home. times changed, women became more independent, and less likely to take abuse.
