BOOKS! - what are you reading?

I just started reading the first book in A Song Of Ice & Fire series.

What is this series about?

I've read three books this week.
The Silent Wife, The Husband's Secret, and What Alice Forgot.

All three were really good. Chick books though.

It's what the HBO show Game Of Thrones is based on.

Good news rams, it's soon to be released in a picture book series!

I usually stick with a series until the end but I chucked that one about halfway through the 3rd book. I really didn't like how the author jumped from one character/location/series of events to another. It gave me a headache after awhile. Good luck, Duchess. I know the books are very popular so it's probably just me.

You should try Gravitys Rainbow you have to keep track of literally hundreds of characters in that.

I have that book on the shelf right in front of me. It was one of my dad's. I've attempted it twice without success.

One day, I'll get through it. Probably when I don't have so many interruptions and a more set schedule. Hard to constantly put that one down and pick it up again without losing track.

Worth the investment, CN?

Hahpahmewhmmmm!

That's the noise I make when I'm not sure about something.

Gravitys Rainbow doesn't “pay off” in the end in any traditional sense, I'm biased though because I like most of Pynchons stuff, but when people talk about the “great American novel” I always end up talking about Gravitys Rainbow.

I didn't hear that. I'd go see it.

I was just reading Daily Finance & discovered a new site for book lovers. The only drawback is that it caters to those who have an e-reader. Many of the books are free and those that are not are often discounted up to 90%.

I'm reading it now. Typical Grisham and it takes place in the South. The main character is an attorney. I'm liking it a lot.

Maybe I'll give it a try.

I'm re-reading some Charles Dickens. Man, he was a great writer. Not a Tale of two cities, that one was depressing. The Cricket on the Hearth is something I read in Grammar school and John Peerybingle and Dot is the same but I forgot a bunch of stuff that is kinda in between the lines. I know how it ends but getting there is the fun.
