he daaaiiid fer a 12-pack, there's got to be a song in there somewhere. hah

A series of bad decisions may have led to the death of a Fort Lauderdale man.

The Broward Sheriff's Office says Wyman Sims decided to use a car with a temporary donut tire as getaway vehicle after swiping a 12 pack of beer from an Oakland Park gas station on West Oakland Park Boulevard.

A witness says the 36-year-old tried to swerve around a car doing the speed limit and lost control.

The gold Chrysler Sebring wrapped around a palm tree in the 4400 block of Northwest 21st Avenue.

Sims was already dead when a deputy arrived on the scene.

The BSO contends at no time were they pursuing the suspect and never activated their lights or sirens.

GAWKER

The Smoking Gun has uncovered an old mugshot of Susan Burns, the woman who attacked Gaugin's "Two Tahitian Women" over the weekend. They've also got the criminal complaint, and as it turns out, she's a CIA agent! (According to her.)

You may be wondering why the CIA would be sending its agents—in particular the ones with radios implanted in their heads—to attack paintings at the Smithsonian. Luckily, Burns' statement to the police, also obtained by The Smoking Gun, should help clear that up:

"I feel that Gaugin is evil. He has nudity and is bad for the children. He has two women in the painting and it's very homosexual. I was trying to remove it. I think it should be burned. I am from the American CIA and I have a radio in my head. I am going to kill you." hah

The very homosexual painting was not harmed in Burns' attack. The Smithsonian has not commented on whether or not it plans on burning the painting.

He don't seem as stupid as some of the others I have read in the thread.lol

OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) — A man charged with killing his mother-in-law and shooting his wife and her grandmother outside a community college opened fire as his 4-year-old daughter sat with the women in a minivan that was riddled with gunfire, police said Thursday.

The girl was injured by flying glass, and the two women who were shot Wednesday afternoon were still being treated for their injuries.

Authorities said Thomas Franklin May III, 34, could face the death penalty if convicted of capital murder in the killing of Brenda Watson, 62, of Opelika. Her daughter, 36-year-old Bethany Lynn May, and mother, 93-year-old Maude Ethell Marshall, were injured in the shooting.

May also was charged with attempted murder and firing into an occupied vehicle, police said.

Court records show Bethany L. May filed a request seeking protection from abuse against Thomas May on Friday, but online records do not provide details. A judge in Lee County issued a temporary order Monday and had scheduled a hearing for May 11, but the sheriff's office said deputies had not located the man to give him the papers at the time of the shooting.

"We would have been looking for him, trying to find him," said Capt. Van Jackson of the Lee County Sheriff's Department.

Police said the shooting occurred in a parking lot at Southern Union Community College, where Bethany May is a student. The two-year college has around 5,000 students and is located about 60 miles east of Montgomery.

The gunman fled the campus moments after the shooting. Less than three hours later, a man drove up, identified himself as the shooter to reporters and photographers still at the school, and waited for officers after members of the media called 911. May was arrested without incident.

A police spokesman said he'd never before see a homicide suspect return to the scene of the crime or identify himself so freely to the media."Why he did that I have no clue," said Capt. Allen Elkins.

Elkins said May told officers he worked at a Harley Davidson motorcycle dealership in Opelika, and the store's website included a photograph that identified him as parts manager. For four years ending in 2004 May worked with troubled youth as a residential specialist at the Lee County Youth Development Center, said executive director Laura Cooper.

An acquaintance of May said he met the man through a friend who rides motorcycles.

"Seemed like a friendly enough guy to me," said Michael Sanford. "(I) still can't believe it."

PORT RICHEY — It was his 64th birthday and Jack Snyder wanted to get naked, authorities said.

So, at San Miguel Drive and Chantilly Lane on Monday afternoon, Snyder dropped his pants, shook his hips and wagged his genitals at a passing school bus full of children on their way home from Chasco Elementary, according to the Pasco Sheriff's Office.

A grandmother driving past to pick up her grandson saw Snyder's nude "butt" and called the Sheriff's Office, said Kevin Doll, agency spokesman. Shortly after, the Sheriff's Office began receiving calls from concerned parents whose children arrived home with stories of seeing Snyder's exposed body parts.

Snyder, who was still on the scene when a deputy arrived, said he thought flashing the bus would be "funny," a report states.

Snyder was arrested Wednesday and charged with five counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition. He told the Sheriff's Office he is homeless but has a mailing address on Limerick Avenue in New Port Richey. He was just released from the Pasco jail March 29 after spending two months for failing to appear in court for trespassing and violating his probation for criminal mischief. He pleaded guilty to the charges, court records state.

Snyder remained Thursday at the jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

It looks like he is using a plastic bag through his belt loops to hold his pants up. Is that because he is not allowed to have a belt or is that the new "gangsta" look?

Townsland Aus.

A MAN who put his finger up a female cop's bottom was jailed for nine months in Townsville District Court yesterday but walked free after the judge took into account time served.

Nathaniel Solomon Wailu, 27, yesterday pleaded guilty to serious assault and obstructing police after a drunken incident on November 19 last year.

Crown prosecutor Andrew Lowrie told the court police were called to a Garbutt lodge in the afternoon where Wailu was causing a disturbance.

Mr Lowrie said the female constable who was assaulted told Wailu she was accompanying his mother so she could retrieve property she had left in his unit.

"At one point the accused walked behind the complainant ... (who) then felt a forceful and sudden poke from the accused's finger between the cheeks of her buttocks," he said. :O

"The complainant then jumped in shock and turned around and pushed the accused away, telling him not to touch her."

Mr Lowrie said Wailu was then told he was under arrest for assaulting an officer, but when three male officers approached to arrest him, he started to struggle.

"The accused continued to struggle with police and would not comply with their directions," he said.

"Police attempted to handcuff him, however he flung his arm away and kicked out at the police officers.

"As a result, the accused and police fell to the ground and ... suffered some cuts and abrasions as a result of the fall." Police I BET HE DID! Police

BLUE SPRINGS, Missouri - A man failed at spelling and robbing a bank Tuesday in Blue Springs.

Roy K. Miller, 32, no known address, was charged Wednesday in federal court with robbing Bank 21 at 3301 S.W. 7 Highway. A bank teller told an FBI agent she was working at her teller station in the lobby when Miller walked into the bank, according to an affidavit filed Wednesday.

Miller walked over, grabbed a deposit slip and wrote a short note. He walked to the teller and handed her the note, which read: "This is a stuck up, Give me the money I'm robed,'' according to the affidavit.

The teller gave Miller cash and asked if he wanted an envelope. Miller refused the envelope and apologized to the teller for the robbery.

Blue Springs officers spotted Miller running through a wooded area (while wearing a bright red shirt. duh.)

The tale of "misfortune" began with a trip to Fort Pierce and a woman with "real big thighs."

Mixed in the plot were an hourly "lodging establishment" and gin drinks. In the end, a 24-year-old man told police his silver trousers, borrowed rental car, cash and other items went missing.

That, according to statements in a recently released police report, is what played out about a week ago in the Sunrise City. Police

A 30-year-old man told Fort Pierce police he lent his rented Dodge Avenger May 19 to his 24-year-old friend, who he said "encountered some misfortune" and the car was stolen.

The friend, a Vero Beach resident, said he borrowed the vehicle about 5 p.m. and drove to Fort Pierce to meet a "female acquaintance." When he arrived, the woman he was supposed to meet didn't answer the phone.

Seeking "female companionship," the man drove to a park at North 13th Street and Avenue M where he saw females "'hanging out.'"

He spied a woman in her early to mid 20s with "real big thighs" and a light complexion. They ended up in the Dodge, and the man said they "talked for about an hour before he 'talked her out of her pants.'" ::bandance::

They drove to a "lodging establishment" that rents rooms by the hour, and he gave the woman with "real big thighs" $30 for a room.

Both imbibed several drinks containing gin, which is created by distilling rye or other grains with juniper berries and which some mix with tonic or use in making martinis.

The man got intoxicated and they engaged in a "liaison," the nature of which was not detailed in the report, before falling asleep. 46

When he woke, the woman with "real big thighs" was missing, as were his rental car keys, silver trousers, gold bracelet, watch, $282 in cash and the Dodge Avenger. Run1

The man said he didn't give the woman with "real big thighs" permission to take the vehicle or anything else.

The man's silver pants, valued at about $50, were size 36, and the report didn't indicate whether they'd fit a woman with "real big thighs."

NEWPORT NEWS

The mother of two boys who were reported missing after a possible abduction Sunday afternoon was charged today after her sons were found safe in Halifax, N.C. and the woman who left with them was arrested.

Yovonda Denise Bennafield, 32, of Newport News reported her two sons, 5- and 6-years-old, missing on Sunday, according to a Newport News police news release. She told police that while she was working as a clerk at a Shell station in the 9000 block of Warwick Blvd., an unknown woman entered the store, purchased a pack of cigarettes and asked to use the phone to call someone to drive her to North Carolina. Bennafield said she offered to drive the woman at the end of her shift if the woman would watch her sons until she got off work at 3 p.m.

Bennafield said she gave the woman the keys to her gold Ford Explorer about 12:30 p.m. and told her she could take the children to a park. A TOTAL STRANGER!! The woman was last seen driving south on Warwick Boulevard.

Newport News police were called to the convenience store about 3:30 p.m. Newport News park rangers checked the city’s parks and could not find the vehicle. Newport News police, state police and surrounding city police departments were notified and began looking for the missing children.

About 2:30 a.m. today, detectives learned police in Halifax, N.C. had found the missing vehicle. The two children, Ta-vyion Blockett, 5, and Dante Blockett, 6, were found safe and in good condition. They were placed in temporary custody of Social Services and the woman who had taken them to North Carolina was in custody.

Sommer La-Ruesh Pannell, 26, of Greensboro, N.C. was being held in North Carolina as a fugitive. Warrants charge her with two counts of abduction and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Police are working to have her extradited back to Newport News.

Later today, police charged the children's mother with two counts of felony child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Police said the charges were a result of the two children being left unattended in her car for several hours and then allowing a stranger to take her children.

Bennafield was taken into custody this afternoon without incident and was being held at the Newport News City Jail.

Her two children have since been placed in the care of a relative.
