Well we made it! Power only flickered a half dozen times, even one time where it shut off phone, so date/time had to be re-entered.
Just did a walk around the villa, no damage!

Luckily, we're on "high ground", so never a threat of flooding.

My heart goes out to all those that are in those devastated flooded areas, in all the states flooded.

NYC is fucked.

If we didn't have Members from Jersey I wouldn't have cared if that entire state was washed out to sea. Other than our Members nothing worthwhile has ever come out of that ridiculous state, it's not even a place, it's a state of mind...retarded.

So 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' and 'The Sopranos' ARE accurate depictions of the nonsense in that state?

BTW, glad to hear that you and your possessions came out unscathed.

You left out "Jersey Shore"! hah

My neck of the woods is out, too. Been running a generator for awhile.

Littleton is roughly 90 miles south of me. A friend lives there and sent me the link.

We didn't get too much damage. The brats & I piled into the car this morning in search of downed trees and such. Didn't see much, but areas around me have power, the bastards.

I feel bad for my wiseass comment regarding NJ earlier. There are a lot of people suffering there right now. Smiley_emoticons_slash

Yeah, the news had a chopper's view of the catastrophic destruction in AC, as well as other parts of the state.

Those people are royally fucked, where the hell are they going to go, their house's were leveled.

They'll be living if FEMA trailers for years. (Same applies to all of Sandy's displaced persons)

The DJ's on the morning radio show I listen to are ripping the weather people apart for getting it so wrong. I think they can only be so accurate with all the dopplars and computers they have. You never know what a storm is going to do. I think everyone over reacted because we got hit so hard by Irene last year. I say better safe than sorry.

How did you make out Duchess?

From the pics I've seen, articles read, news I've watched and what people on here have said...what you just said, makes no sense at all.

Am I mistaken to think this storm was much worse than Irene?

A tree fell onto the rear addition of the house. Didn't do much damage because it hung up in another tree. Its branches did break a window and knocked the gas chimney ajar.

I am glad Cosmo is safe, a little shaken up from all the noise that Sandy made all through the night. We all are safe and that's what matters.

I don't have a memory of Irene so it must not have affected me much but in some places this storm has been very bad, just awful.

Parts of the Jersey shore have been decimated. Home after home reduced to rubble. Some people have lost everything. Fires are claiming some homes that Sandy didn't and there are still places that first responders can't get to.

I'm glad Cosmo is ok, but I think you should have thrown out his chair with Sandy.

That's quite a chair.

I have a nostalgic connection with that old chair. It was Mom's chair and Dec 11 will be the 1 year anniversary of her death. I got Cosmo shortly after that and he has chosen it as his favorite. As dated and outrageous as that chair is I can't part with it.
