~~trying to reason with hurricane season~~

Why do the weather people have to be so goddamn dramatic. Ugh. They won't be happy until they've terrified their entire viewership.

Only the misguided fools will get worked up. I have a Dave Davies concert I'm going to Sunday so it better be half way decent out.

You'll be fine. Once they hit land they run out of steam pretty quickly.

What did one Palm tree say to the other while waiting for the hurricane to hit land?

Hold on to your nuts, this ain't no ordinary blowjob.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

North Carolina here againHibye

We got around 5 inches of rain last weekend. Expecting up to 10 more this weekend. Early Sunday morning I am driving until I find a warm sunny beach, however long it takes. Hoping the Gulf is nice and quiet.

What a week for an insurance agent to take a vacation hah

About 50 miles, give or take. It takes me around 45 minutes to get there, the Chesapeake Bay is a little closer, I sorta live in the middle of both of them. When I hear weather people say storms will follow the Bay I shit a brick. I don't worry about flooding because the water would have to rise many, many feet and that's just not going to happen but I do worry about high winds. While I don't live in the forest I am surrounded by trees. Meh. I'd rather have a hurricane than a tornado. Smiley_emoticons_slash

Here comes Hurricane Harvey. Earlier today I heard about a picture of it taken from space and people were saying it looked just like Katrina and just now I read that those who choose to stay have been told to put their names & social security numbers on their arms so their bodies can be more easily identified.

The amount of rain this storm is bringing is incredible. I can't back this up because I can't recall where I heard it but it was said that the weather people had to come up with a new color to indicate the massive amount of rain.

I feel sorry for those who choose to stay, for whatever reason they have. It must be pretty damn important but I won't rule out stupidity either. There will be those who lose their life and those who will lose everything they spent a lifetime building. SadSadSad.

I've been through a few at this point. I never saw so much rain in my life as when Floyd went by. My pond flooded so much that it actually spread and covered the road. Hurricane Sandy went right over top of me and barely rattled my wind chimes. Given the choice, I'd rather deal with a hurricane rather than a tornado.

Texas sure got hammered by Harvey and is still getting flooding rains, and will be for quite some time!

Texas sure does things big all right!

I'm having really bad thoughts about those who tied their pets outdoors. They'd have a better shot at survival if they simply cut them loose. Fuckers.

I'm so freaked out by this picture. Saddened too. It was taken at a nursing home in Texas.
