Agreed!!!!

If I'm not mistaken he was satified with the other POS's sentence.

It's my understanding from what I've read that Dr. Petit wants the DP.

Underway in Courtroom 6A. Komisarjevsky enters the courtroom with a slight smirk on his face. The jury enters a few seconds later. #Komis

Bastard. That smirk needs to be permanently wiped off his face.

A tweet from another reporter noted that the jury seems to be dressed more formally today than yesterday. Could be random, or could be the jury thinks there's a possibility they'll have a decision today.

they didn't begin until after noon.

NEW HAVEN—

Jurors deliberating the fate of Cheshire home invasion killer Joshua Komisarjevsky began their work at 12:30 p.m. Friday, their fifth day behind closed doors. The late start was arranged to allow one of the jurors to attend a business meeting in the morning.

Dr. William Petit Jr., the lone survivor of the deadly 2007 Cheshire home invasion said Thursday afternoon that he wasn't surprised that jurors so far had spent more than 17 hours deliberating over the fate of the man who killed his family without yet reaching a verdict.

"I think we're all just tired and assume the jury is being very careful," Petit said. "It's a complicated verdict form."

A different jury last year spent slightly more than 17 hours before deciding to send Komisarjevsky's accomplice, Steven Hayes, to death row.

LC, I read on ABC news that they played a video of his daughter for the jury during the penalty phase. Is that true? They didn't way what she said or how she affected the outcome.

yes the jury alone saw a brief video of an interview with komisarjevsky's young daughter. she did not discuss murders or anything graphic. but the daughter called him uncle or daddy josh, not dad. defense wanted to show she needed her father and elicit sympathy for him.

only how does a man with a little daughter do what he did to Dr. Petit's little daughter?

Exactly my feeling. The fact that he had a daughter make his rape of Michaela even more depraved.

Death recommended on all counts....hmmmm... can he be in gen pop awaiting execution, please?

i don't yet know when judge will decide and hold sentencing.

A judge will weigh the jury's recommendation in sentencing Komisarjevsky, who was convicted in October on six capital felony charges. The 12-member jury voted for death by lethal injection on each of the six counts.

Komisarjevsky stood beside the defense table just a few feet from Petit, his hands clasped behind his back. He showed no apparent emotion as the heard the jury's decision.

Komisarjevsky will join 10 other men on Connecticut's death row, including Steven Hayes, his accomplice in the Cheshire crimes.

Thank God! Exactly what I think most of us were waiting to hear! Hoping Dr. Petit and his family can now begin the healing process. Whatever that is...

He will be sentenced by the judge on January 27.

Speaking outside the courthouse after the verdict, Dr. Petit told the media that while there is 'never complete closure when you lose a wife and family,' there's 'a little peace [now] that this part of the grind is over.'

We don't have the death penalty here in Australia. I don't know why. Sometimes it seems the only fitting punishment to such a crime. Is it me or is the world getting worse?

i'm sure many will wish him all the peace and happiness he can get in life. i certainly do.

Dr. William Petit became engaged over the weekend to photographer Christine Paluf, but no wedding date was set, his friend and spokesman, Rick Healey, confirmed Wednesday. The Hartford Courant first reported the engagement of the 55-year-old Petit to the 34-year-old Ms Paluf, who volunteered at events of the Petit Family Foundation, which helps educate young people, improve the lives of those with chronic illnesses and protect those affected by violence.
