Petit Family murders. trial coverage, warning! graphic evidence photos.
I'm happy for Dr Petit. His life goes on regardless and he deserves to have someone to love. I wonder about the new wife, though. I sure as hell wouldn't want to live with all those ghosts. And a 20 year age difference on top of it. But whatever, not my business. I sincerely hope they're happy together!

What the hell does pot have to do with anything? Trying to slam me because I readily admit to smoking it? Pfft. That won't fly with me.

You're nothing more than a bimbo with a dick, MS, hardly a person of caliber.

So I'm a bimbo and you're a pothead. BFD.

You're just very chummy with those that toke and overly sensitive towards those that don't.

You dismiss my opinions as if they're mean-spirited, stupid, etc.

Is this a sensitive case? Yes. Do I think the Dr. did all he could? No. You and LC do. Fine.

Someone disagrees with your take and you go straight to name-calling. I don't and never have.

I think that speaks volumes about your character.

I dismiss your opinions because I think you're a fuckin' retard, not for any other reason.

Have you even read this thread? I ask because only someone extremely misinformed could possibly think Dr. Petit could have done anything. Let me beat you with a baseball bat & see how effective you would be in saving your family, I can assure you that you wouldn't be.

Personally, I don't care if you name call or not, I tend to call a spade a spade or in this instance, a bimbo with a dick or a fuckin' retard, they both apply.

You are a tard that means you are not qualified to judge my character. 33

You just can't let it go can you?

A tard? Coming from you?

I've read the thread. I've read his testimony. His hands were free. He thought they were all about to be shot. That's why he ran. His wits were about him enough to think 'run'.

Unfortunately, his wife and girls were still alive in the house. His wife may have been being strangled very soon thereafter, but the girls were upstairs alive.

You're not a dad, but I'd have a difficult time living with myself knowing the decisions I made that day.

So, fuck you and your fucking opinion.

I wish them a long and happy life together.

I tried to read about this case a couple of years ago and had to stop because it upset me so much. I'm really glad that I perservered, not only was justiced served, but it was great to hear how Dr Petit has been able to find happiness and love.

Waah, waah, waah. Poor Steven Hayes. He says the correctional officers are tormenting him and he wants to die. (Bravo, correctional officers!)

Convicted murderer Steven Hayes mailed a letter to representatives of The Courant recently. The one-page letter, dated Sept. 29, was handwritten in small capital letters except his signature. Following are two key excerpts, the rest of the letter was blurred because of privacy issues.

"I declared to my defense team and the DOC that I was going to petition to waive my direct appeal and go to the death chamber."

"I cannot live with the intense tourcher [sic], torment, harrassment, and the resulting psychological trauma dished out by the Dept. of Corr. staff here at Northern." (October 11, 2012)

Dr. William Petit Jr. to Be a Father Again

Dr. William Petit Jr., whose wife and two daughters were murdered in 2007, is expecting a child with his new wife, Christine.

"Christine is 22 weeks along and is due the first week of December," their spokesman, Rick Healey, said Thursday.

"I'm very excited," an emotional Dr. Petit told Connecticut TV station WFSB. "Children are always your jewels."

Joshua is a product of his dna and environment. He needed help as a child and all he got was church camp. For this Christin error three people are dead and he will spend the rest of his life in isolation. What is with all this hate he is human and he does matter. My question is who is really at fault?

Joshua is at fault. He is a grown man capable of making his own decisions & life choices.

Don't run away when others question your opinion. If you have some background on Joshua please share it.

Well, hi there miss malta. Welcome to Mock.

Very astute observation and thought-provoking question.

I was convinced that it was Joshua's fault -- you know, because he chose to rob, rape, beat and kill -- all whilst knowing exactly what he was doing when he decided to destroy and wipe out innocent lives to satisfy his own greed and lust.

Now............you've got me pondering -- maybe it's the fault of Joshua's parents, maybe he has evil DNA, maybe the coldness of society is to blame, or the Christian camp counselors... Perhaps it was a conspiracy and he's not really responsible or guilty at all!

Not really, I'm just bullshitting you back. He knew what he was doing; that's not contested. He did it, his choices, regardless of his childhood or anything else. There's no way around it and nobody else to blame, IMO.

OK, I call Bullshit on the new chickie.
Your 1 for 1 so far, swing and a miss.
This POS is a POS because he chose to be. I went to church camp, several times. Not once they teach me anything about robbing, raping and pillaging and killing.
Quite the opposite actually.
Nice try
Your move

I wonder what happened to @miss malta.

She'd be happy to see that her man Joshua is fighting back against being held responsible for his own actions!

Snip:
Lawyers for Joshua Komisarjevsky asked the state Supreme Court last week to hold an evidentiary hearing, reverse Komisarjevsky's convictions and order a new trial.

The Hartford Courant reports that 41 taped calls from three internal Cheshire, Conn. police lines were not turned over to the defense before Komisarjevsky's conviction in the 2007 killing of Jennifer Petit and daughters Hayley and Michaela.

Among the recordings were calls in which police told SWAT team members a hostage negotiator not to go to the scene, according to the Hartford Courant.

His lawyers say the recordings would have proved a defense theory that the police response to the Cheshire home invasion was inadequate‑-an effort to question the credibility of police witnesses.

Komisarjevsky and Steven Hayes are on death row for the killings of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters, 17-year-old Hayley and 11-year-old Michaela.

Prosecutors say the recordings were given to the defense and don't raise any significant appeal issues.
(HOTD: I hope that's true and this appeal gets shot down quickly.)

Whatta waste of money bringing this crap to the forefront. Those murdering bastards get nothing.

This case was my first real experience with a shocking crime and I can recall how horrified I was when reading the details of what took place. I still think about it on occasion.

Last night, I watched another great documentary on HBO and thought about you and LC, Duchess. It's called "The Cheshire Murders" and it's about the Petit case. It's approximately 90 minutes, I think.

The film (from 2013) covers everything from the crime, to the backgrounds of the murderers, to the trials, to the debate over the sentencing, to Dr. Petit's relentless campaign to get the death sentence applied to his family's killers...

I learned a lot of new details that helped me understand better how everything went down -- sad and infuriating. The interviews with the victims' and killers' family members and loved ones were so enlightening and raw.

This was the very first case I got interested in. I was appalled & enthralled. The horror of it is something I will be a long time in forgetting and watching the trials unfold was one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever seen. The details of what went down bothered me more than I've ever been bothered by a stranger's misery. Those men are evil.

If I see it in the guide I would check it out. I rarely know what is on TV and find out about shows much in the same way I did today.

Life Goes On...

William Petit Jr., the Connecticut doctor whose wife and daughters were brutally murdered during a 2007 home invasion, is running for the state's legislature, reports say.

The 59-year-old is the Connecticut Republican Party's nominee for the 22nd House District, which includes Plainville and New Britain, according to The Hartford Courant. He is expected to issue an official statement next week.

The run comes nearly a decade after Petit lost his wife, 48-year-old Jennifer Hawke-Petit, and young daughters, Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11, in a horrific home invasion in July 2007.

Joshua Komisarjevsky and Steven Hayes broke into the family's Cheshire home, bludgeoned Petit with a baseball bat and tied him to a pole in the basement before turning their attention to his wife and daughters.

The pair forced Jennifer to drive to a nearby bank and withdraw $15,000. She tipped off a bank teller as the men waited outside in a car.

Back at the home, the men strangled and raped Jennifer. They also sexually assaulted one of Petit's daughters before setting the house on fire. Dr. Petit was the only survivor.

Both men have been sentenced to death row but are appealing their convictions.

In the years following the incident, Petit married Christine Paluf, twenty years his junior, and the couple welcomed a son in 2013.

Petit has become an outspoken activist against repealing the state's death penalty and even considered a run for Congress in 2013, according to Politico.

The doctor founded the Petit Family Foundation after the tragedy to honor his slain wife and children.

One of these monsters has been re-sentenced. Hayes is no longer facing death, he was re-sentenced to life in person. How does this happen?! I have mixed feelings, maybe being in general population is a good thing, however, I think it's bullshit the way the death penalty was removed.
