CALLING ALL COOKS

Me too but more like once a week (thank God). Did you pretend to wipe your face with a napkin but instead spit the lima beans in there too?

You can buy puff pastry in the frozen food aisle at the grocery store. It should be by the frozen pie shells. Defrost it in the fridge (it comes two rolls to a pack, you will probably only need one). Work with it quickly because it will dry out super fast and crack. Unroll one whole sheet, put the brie in the middle, then gather the edges around it like covering a chair cushion (you may want to seal the edges with egg wash), then flip it over if you want the top smooth. Don't mess with the pastry too much or it won't puff.

Sweetie, if you mess these up, you are hopeless in the kitchen. You CAN do it!

The worst part is mixing with your hands. Take your rings off first.

Hahaha. Poor Duchess. I think she'll do fine. If she doesn't, I hope her friends are sweet enough not to tell her.

Imagine that, they were in the frozen food section. hah

I didn't get everything I needed, it's snowing it's ass off here & all the stupid people have run to the grocery store, I got a couple of things & got the hell out of there.

I've decided to make most of this Christmas Eve/Christmas Day for me & Cowboy. I probably shouldn't treat my guests as guinea pigs so I'll just get the food for my party up in Little Italy. I found the puff pastry for LC's brie & Sally's cute lil' shells and I'm making Cracker's sausage balls.

I need a drink. I'm done for the day.

i really got into it for several years. i have a huge cookbook collection and all Julia Child's old videos & books. and a fortune in cookware and knives.
would i call it a hobby or avocation? no. but it's nice knowing how for when i damn well feel like it. hah
i think if you enjoy really good food, cooking is a natural next step. i like home-made from scratch breads, soups, etc.

My friends are great about my nonexistent cooking skills. They like to rag on me, it's sort of a joke that I don't really cook. They know our dinner won't be homemade by me but, I set a pretty table and the food will be wonderful.

You should have seen the look on Cowboy's face when I was muttering about puff pastry. 113

I only cook because I am a freak about meat. I don't trust places to cut out all the funky gristle, vessels, connective tissue, etc. out of the meat like I do at home. If I didn't cook, I would eat mexican food out every night.

I'm sure you and your friends will have a ball. I have friends I can tease (I like them best) and other friends that are sensitive bitches about any criticism. You are of the cooler variety, so you are probably more fun to be around, no matter what you cook.

Is it tomorrow night?

Saturday, 7 p.m. Every time I throw a party I always wish I could invite some Mockers, I know that there are a few in here that my friends would appreciate their humor & ability to converse as much as I do. Smiley_emoticons_smile

I don't like any of that crap either. Veins in chicken used to make me want to heave just seeing them.

Hahahaha. I get that way when someone mentions "lice." Creeps me TF out every time. My head itches for days until I forget about it.

Don't itch your ass at work. If you feel you must, please do it in the restroom. There is no ass clean enough for scratchin' in my world. I would frown upon public ass scratchin'.
