Amanda Knox

For me, a false confession under duress - thereby screwing oneself over - is one thing. Lying about someone you know being a murderer to get the heat off of yourself is entirely different.

Knox's boss Patrick Lumumba was in jail for two weeks and was only cleared because somebody heard about his imprisonment and came forward and proved that Lumumba was with him the night Meredith was killed. Lumumba sued Knox for defamation and won.

But, I don't think that lie means that Knox was involved in the murders, and I agree with you and Ski that she did not have a fair and impartial trial. Unfortunately, sometimes people are wrongly accused and convicted, everywhere in the world.

Anyway, Knox may not be entitled to financial compensation, but she and her family did rake in a lot of donations to support her defense and appeal, and she's profited from paid interviews, her book sales, etc... That doesn't mitigate what happened to her, but at least it eased the financial legal burden I imagine.

Thanks, Hair! As always, you are the voice of reason, but it felt good to "just bitch" again on here....was getting nothing else done in life as too much time spent on here so had to cut back...way back...

Also, a dear friend, since 1955, passed away. She was one of my original roommates when I was first employed by Continental Airlines. I will miss her so much...

I always have a comment, but just bite my tongue most of the time. Sorry, I missed some of your birthdays so Happy Belated Birthday to those of you who had recent birthdays.
Just celebrated two family birthdays who were also in September. Great grandaughter's birthday is today and grandson's on 3 Sep.....my father's was 13 Sep and one close friend is 10 Sep and another 20 Sep....

I think Amanda was high on something and has vague memories of a black person being in area (Rudy ?) and really may have seen him at some point that evening, but don't think she remembers much about that night...

Took a trip to Kansas to see family and going through airport security, the security system detected "bomb residue on my hands" so I had to have a pat down. You would think an old lady in a wheelchair would get a break, but no.........I continue to look suspicious and suspect to others.... O.K. I got through that and thought I won't have that problem returning from Kansas City.......Well, this time, I wasn't in wheelchair, but went through x-ray machine and it beeped like really, really loud, scaring the you know what out of me...by this time, I am thinking, oh, not again. I haven't traveled in 2 years because of my dumb oxygen, hassles, inconvenience, and so forth. Well, I had to have another pat down.....Now is this just karma or what? Dang, some guy went through security here approx 3 months ago with real bomb to "test" security and he got through security. I think dogs would do a better job, but then they probably would delay everyone by smelling everyone's crotch.......Also, two years prior, I was chosen for "random" search although nothing beeped here at Sky Harbor.....Well, it looks like I rambled a bit and I am sorry for that....

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend too blueberry.

That's weird about you always setting off the security alarms at the airport. It's kinda hard getting around tha airport in a wheelchair anyway. Sometimes I take clients to catch flights and we need to get there like 4 hours early because there are so few attendants to assist people in chairs past security. I admire your determination.

Anyway, I understand you're busy but it's always great to see you here and I hope you'll pop in when you can. You're missed when you're gone too long.
