I didn't expect they'd be out for long after the New Mexico judges dismissed the child abuse charges because the state did not obtain a preliminary hearing within the 10-day mandatory window.

I think LE might have had a difficult time proving child abuse against anyone but the ringleader Siraj Wahhaj (who was never released) so they let those charges go for now and re-arrested the other four adults on new charges that would hold up immediately.

37-year-old Hujrah Wahhaj, 35-year-old Subhanah Wahhaj, 35-year-old Jany Leveille, and 40-year-old Lucas Morton—were all rearrested on new charges.

Leveille is being charged with being an illegal immigrant (from Haiti) and “unlawfully in possession of firearms and ammunition.” Authorities also charged the others with aiding, abetting and conspiring with Leveille to commit the offenses.

Law enforcement found “at least eleven firearms and a large quantity of ammunition” from Georgia and Alabama during a search of the compound in August. Leville faces up to 10 years in prison and deportation, while the four others face up to 15 years in prison.

There are more details being confirmed. Three of the adults from the compound were released when state child abuse charges were dropped.

They were then immediately arrested as accessories to federal firearms-related charges which carry stricter penalties.

The ringleader, Siraj Wahhaj, and his girlfriend, Jany Leveille, were never released from state custody, as I understand it.

She was hit with federal illegal firearms possession charges as a Haitian immigrant here in the country illegally and Siraj Wahhaj was charged as an accessory to those crimes.

A 13-year-old boy found at a New Mexico compound with the son of a controversial Brooklyn imam says he was being trained for “jihad” with firearm and hand-to-hand-combat techniques, according to new court documents.

Siraj Ibn Wahhaj — whose dad runs a mosque in Bedford-Syuyvesant and has been linked to the 1993 World Trade Center bombings — was preparing the 13-year-old and his teen brother to fight against non-believers through techniques including rapid reloads and hand-to-hand combat, he told FBI agents.

The 13-year-old, whose mom was dating Wahhaj, was one of 11 kids and five adults found living at the squalid, armed compound in Taos County when it was raided on Aug. 3. The dead body of Wahhaj’s 3-year-old son, Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj, was also found there.

The 13-year-old says he watched the man and his mom perform an “exorcism” ritual over the boy — including one in which the youngster choked and his heart stopped, according to a special agent’s affidavit filed in US District Court in New Mexico.

The teen said his mom, Jany Leveille, and others at the compound told him not to talk to anyone about the 3-year-old ever being there because they would “all go to jail.”

Defense lawyers have argued that the five adults were exercising their constitutional rights to practice their religion and own firearms, and that the group is being discriminated against because they are black and Muslim.

They are scheduled to appear in court in Albuquerque tomorrow.

I'm glad to see this case finally come to a close with a guilty verdict and the equivalent of a life sentence.

Jurors convicted piece of shit Patricio Medina, 27, on multiple counts for sexually assaulting his newborn in March 2014. The child suffered 45 broken bones and other injuries during the rape.

Jurors decided on an 80-year sentence and $10,000 fine on the aggravated sexual assault of a child count, two 80-year sentences and $10,000 fines on the injury to a child counts and two 2-year sentences for child endangerment.

He'll be behind bars the rest of his sorry life.  Medina must serve the full 80 years of the sentence for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

The baby's mother, Lisa Montoya, testified against Medina. She pleaded guilty to two counts of endangering a child. Medina, who was first indicted in November 2015, had been jailed in lieu of $225,000 bond.

Fortunately, an unrelated family adopted the baby victim and her two siblings. The girl is now 4 and is reportedly doing well.
