Ya know..personally I dont't give a fuck about these three (even though one of'em was from I-dee-ho). Might help reduce the fucking stupidity gene pool a bit. If you're an American, you just simply don't go hiking on the Iran/Iraq border. Simple as that.
Of the millions of sperm injected into your mother's pussy, you were the quickest?

You are no longer in the womb, friend. The competition is tougher out here.

MWS, you are perfectly correct in your assertions. I have worked in that part of the world, and I have friends who are still there. There is NO WAY we would go anywhere near there. I think they were young and niaive. It's kind of like those people you see who get caught drug smuggling in those asian countries and then they cry fowl when they get caught and get given the death penalty. I mean, when you go into those countries, it's in big writing, it's on the cards in red writing about drugs etc. So why would you risk it. If you want $25000 or however much money you want. You go to college/uni, put up with politics for 3 years or 4 if you are doing medicine or more. You collect a better than average salary and save up like the rest of us. Or get a loan out and then pay it off.

So you are right, but I have compassion in my heart for those people, I feel sad and sorry for them. It would be their worst nightmare, they are seeing the worst of the worst over there. Just remember, they are imprisoned by Iran because they hate the US. If it was Saudi Arabia there would be a welcome party.

Look them up in interlinear

You know if you read the story of sodom and gommorah, it wasnt the homosexuality that was the sin. It was that they were deviates and rapists and ALL the men wanted Lot's guests 'in that way'. So the men were of all ages! Young and old. They were corrupting young people, they were disrespecting God. It wasnt about homosexuality.

I am not one of those God hates fags people. I don't think God does. I have met people who were created that way. Maybe God has made us all different to see who we will accept and reject, and how loving we can be as human beings. Some of those people who are so hateful and bring God into it are so far off the mark it aint funny. God is love.

I have more sympathy for parents of these 2 duffs, than for the duffs themselves. If their claims are true that they simply 'got lost', then they didn't prepare themselves properly for their adventure. Had they taken the time to learn how to read a topographical map, they probably wouldn't be in the situation that they are in now.

It's kind of like the debate that we have up here in the mountains sometimes. New Hampshire has a 'reckless hiker' law that basically states: If you go wondering around the Mountains unprepared, and we have to rescue your ass, then you're going to pay for the cost of the rescue.

It also brings to mind the reporters that go into war torn countries, and get captured (James Foley, et. al.). They know they are going into a dangerous situation-act like 'big brave men' in front of the news camera, then they look like they are completely in shock when they get taken into custody.

When you're in another country, you have to play by their rules. If you don't acclimate yourself to the laws and customs of that country, then you're setting yourself up for disaster.

I don't wish 8 years in an Iraqi prison on anyone, but when you play that close to the fire.......

they've been released. maybe the fools will stick to hiking in the beautiful mountains of the U.S. or the gorgeous Alps. [Image: yodel-smiley.gif?1292867705]

TEHRAN – The two American hikers jailed as spies in Iran were released Wednesday on bail into the custody of the Omani envoy in Tehran.

The State Department said the release to Oman was granted for Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal. Their Iranian lawyer, Masoud Shafiei, who was en route to see the men Wednesday, could not immediately confirm their release but earlier said, “The case is over.”
