I still have to visit Toledo as almost all of my family still lives there. Otherwise, I would never go back.

When I can move again, I'm thinking of heading your way. I like the Carolinas (I know, I'm not supposed to like South Carolina, but I do).

This thread is supposed to make people angry. You think your family would be offended?

It made me angry, if that makes you feel better. But then, I was kinda pissed off anyway.

Most definitely. My family gets pissed when I tell them what a shit hole they live in. However, they won't come visit me. Toledo is flat and if they try to drive out of it, they might fall off the edge of the map or be swallowed by a pot hole.

I'm not trying to get all up in your business, but I think your family irritates you. Just an observation.

Your observation would be correct. At least the fact that they won't visit!

hahaha

Georgia is a little like that. Some people never leave their town. I live about 30 mins from downtown ATL and I know many people who have never been there. That is sad to me. Not that ATL is any great prize, but they have good foods and music and decent shopping there.

These are the same people who thump Bibles and only need their Lord. I guess that is cheaper than paying for parking.

Of course they do, but everyone does. So it's nothing special.

I didn't feel like making garlic bread to go along with the chicken parmesan so I bought these frozen Hot Mama garlic knots, I was just reading the box and noticed they're from Toledo. It says the knots are hand twisted, maybe we shouldn't eat them.

Mother Sentenced for Having Sex with Son
[Image: 6975375_BG1.jpg]

Terri Walker will spend four years in prison for having had sex with her son.

A Toledo woman who pleaded guilty to having sex with her adult son was sentenced on Thursday. Fifty-four-year-old Terri Walker was sentenced to four years in prison.

Police say she repeatedly had sex with her son, 28-year-old Kevin Ware, sometimes in front of a 7-year-old girl. Evidence in the case came to light while police were investigating allegations that the son raped the 7-year-old. During that investigation, police say the son told them he and his mother had sex in front of the girl, and told her what they were doing.

Walker will have to go through Ohio's system of labelling sexual offenders.

According to the police report, Walker was having sex with her son for the last four years. She stated in the report they would usually have sex with each other about twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Police say Walker expressed surprised to find out she was breaking the law.

"It's not something that allows a family unit to be intact," said Robert Clark, the prosecutor in the case, in a story first broadcast on News 11 in May. He and others in his office reviewed Ohio's incest laws and found a case of a man who appealed to a higher court after he was found guilty of having consensual sex with his 22-year-old stepdaughter.

The court in that case found the law made no exceptions for consent of the stepchild or the stepchild's age. Moreover, the court said parents do not cease being parents, whether natural parents, stepparents or adoptive parents, when their minor child reaches the age of majority.

"Those kinds of things tend to destroy family units and I think that's the whole purpose of the law," said Clark.

Count on News 11 to follow this case as it winds through the court system."

That was 2007, I think, but still yucky.

On a different note, sad to see the flooding in Ohio. We had bad flooding here last year, so I know it is terrible. Hope you people are keeping warm and dry.

Yes, Toledo is a shithole, and the son was put into a mental health care facility. I hate Toledo, and I am born and bred a Toledoan. I left this city for college but ended up coming back to this terrible place. Don't judge everybody. Most of us are stuck here because there is nowhere else to go right now. You need serious cash to pick up and move. But yeah, the crime rate is going up. It would be a lot higher if everyone actually reported crimes. Unfortunately, most people are scared to report crimes here, and we all have to deal with the consequences.

He was blind, but also looked like Jabba the Hut. So, you can imagine the mixed feeling on both their parts' (NOT a euphemism).
