Major League Baseball Opening Day

You’re on MS!

You have the Astros (in six or less).

I have the Dodgers (in five or less)).

If the Dodgers win but it takes six games, it’s a draw between us.

If the series goes the full seven, you win it all if the Astros are the victors and I win it all if the Dodgers are the victors. Fair enough?

We have some time to determine the terms of our bet.

Definitely!

p.s. why is it my thoughts always turn toward ‘you-know-what’?

And so, I’ll try to think of something that’s NOT completely inappropriate.

Are there any other baseball teams other than the Red Sox and Yankees? Those are the only ones I've heard of. Also which team is Larry Bird on?

My guess is that Bird falls under the Blue Jays, the Orioles, or the Cardinals.

Sally was just fucking around, I think she knows who Larry Bird is.

And, I was just playing along, throwing out bird-named MLB teams.

I definitely know Larry Bird; that goofy-looking dude made me and my dad scream at the tv lots of times during the old Lakers vs. Celtics rivalry back in the 80s. He was a badass on the court.

Are you sure, you never can tell, you either. hah

Well, I can't speak with certainty about what is and isn't in sally's mind.

But, she's smart. I'm pretty sure she's aware that there are more than two teams in a league.

As for Bird..............guessing sally knows he's not a baseball player named Larry (who plays for teams named after a bird). Or, is he?

Well, MS, as I'm sure you know...........the Dodgers won the first game last night.

Man, it was hot here yesterday and even hotter in Southern California. The stadium was eventually packed in Los Angeles; thousands of people seat-to-seat in 100+ degree weather. Bet the beer sales were through the roof.

Anyway, did you think of anything appropriate as the terms of our bet? We could just bet for fun if you want. You have til Game 3 to make a proposal if you wanna put some stakes on the table. ")

Kershaw was outstanding last night... I expected him to make a few more mistakes.

Now, pressure’s on Verlander to deliver a similar performance for Houston tonight.

I’m still working on something appropriate and should have it before Game 3.

I was joking, I know who Larry Bird is. But that's about all I know, I don't exactly kick ass in the Trivial Pursuit sports category.

Tied 3 to 3 bottom of the 9th.

Verlander pitched a no-hitter until the 5th, not bad.

I hope we get a run and avoid overtime this game.

Well, there went that hope! ") Now, Dodgers are down 3 to 5 at the top of the 10th. "(

Well MS, as I'm sure you know.............................the Astros won game 2 with a score of 7 to 6 in the 11th inning.

I had to leave at the top of the 10th and didn't get to see the rest of the extra innings, but watched the clips this morning.

What a great game -- it turned into a total slug fest and fight to the end with 8 home runs, setting a new World Series record.

I'm not feeling very confident about my bet/projection heading into game 3. Seems a long shot that the Dodgers are gonna win three in a row given the next games are in Houston and the Astros are fired up and really damn good. But, I'll stick with it (because I'm stuck with it). ')

I didn't realize that the Astros have never won a World Series game in their 56-year history until this morning. They sure earned it last night.

Houston’s got a very good squad.

They won 101 games this year which trailed the Indians and Dodgers.

They scored the most runs of any team in baseball this year and just beat Boston and the Yankees to advance to the WS.

I’m a little biased toward the American League but I think overall, they’re a smidge better.

We will see!

As for a bet, if I win, you have to write me an open letter telling me how we would spend our days ion a deserted island if we had a couple of years to ourselves.

You MUST be VERY detailed.

For reference, you are Salma and I’m Antonio in Once Upon A Time in Mexico.
