Holly Bobo, 20, Tenn. missing. & Karen Swift
#1
the obvious question...her brother witnessed this and did WHAT? nothing?? HUH? is he disabled?

AP
A 20-year-old nursing student last seen being dragged from her home by a man in camouflage may have been abducted in a home invasion.

Holly Bobo, from West Tennessee, was dragged across the carport from her family home toward a wooded area on Wednesday morning.
Her 25-year-old brother witnessed the whole thing from inside the house.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are now gathering evidence at Holly's home in Decatur County, a rural area of small, modest homes about 100 miles from Memphis.
The suspected home invasion happened around 7.30am and Holly was said to be wearing a pink shirt and light blue jeans.
Family and friends of the 20-year-old are now working with police to try and find Holly.
A dispatcher for the Decatur County Sheriff's Office said they had received several calls from the community wanting to help in the search. Police were using dogs and a helicopter to try to find the nursing student.
didn't dogs pick up scent?

Riders on horseback were also being used to search wooded areas.

At Bear Creek Baptist Church in Parsons, a group of volunteers from several neighboring towns had gathered to continue the search late Wednesday.
Bud Grimes, a spokesman for the University of Tennessee at Martin, said Holly was studying to be a licensed practical nurse through the Tennessee Technology Center.
Her pastor, Don Franks, from the Corinth Baptist Church, said he has known the young woman all her life and called her 'a fine young Christian girl' with the voice of an angel.
He said the community response to her abduction has been exceptional.
'They're searching, bringing food and holding prayer vigils. The whole community is praying for her safety and well-being.'
A vigil was held in her village as residents offered prayers in the hope for her safe return.

A massive search is underway for the missing cousin of country music artist Whitney Duncan. Nashville News Channel 5 reports that investigators believe 20-year-old Holly Bobo was abducted from her home on Wednesday morning. Whitney posted a plea on her Facebook an hour ago “Can someone please post the amber alert…my phone will not let me. Not getting a lot of service. Thanks for all yours prayers!” Hundreds of friends and fans are helping get the word out in hopes of getting Holly home safely.

so now the mom and brother both watched her dragged away screaming and did nothing?? WTF!

was it the boyfriend so they didn't interfere? why can't we get a straight answer?

Holly Bobo was dragged "across the carport of her home… toward a wooded area" in the town of Parsons on Wednesday, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Both Bobo's mother and 25-year-old brother watched the woman being abducted and called 911.

Mayer would not say if family members tried to intervene or if they were suspected in the abduction.

Wow. Very odd. Had they been threatened I wonder? Sounds like it could be the bf, but not sounding a good outcome.

there's sure as shit a lot we aren't being told. and why, since call was immediate, could/did dogs not track her?? this is bullshit. they put out an amber alert for a 20-year-old, and ask people to search...but tell the public NOTHING?

She's a cutie pie.

You rarely, if ever, hear of homely chicks being taken.

Apparently it's no longer being considered a home invasion.

"Investigators initially believe the young woman may have been abducted from her house in a home invasion, but John Mayer, spokesman for the TBI told ABCNews.com that "the suspect was never inside."

Sadly, I won't be surprised if her mother and brother are behind her disappearance.

this is troublesome because it means nobody has been ruled out/cleared.

"Authorities said the 911 center received two phone calls when Holly Bobo, 20, was abducted Wednesday morning from her Decatur County home. One call was from her 25-year-old brother, who was in the home, and the other was from a woman police did not identify....The sheriff of the county said investigators found blood in the car port of the home...The search area was widened Thursday and covers rugged terrain with trees and brush so thick that at least one search dog had to be carried by its handler on Wednesday afternoon, police said...A TBI spokesman said the possible abductor is a man between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds and not her boyfriend. Officials say the Bobo family has been extremely cooperative in the investigation."

Thanks LC. What a tragic situation and heartbreaking press conference. I feel bad I considered the family as possible suspects.

PARSONS, Tenn. — The parents of a woman reportedly dragged from her home made a tearful plea for help in finding her Thursday, as police found blood on a carport and volunteers searched nearby woods and fields.

"Please help us find her," Karen Bobo, shuddering and trying to express herself through tears, said of her daughter Holly, a 20-year-old nursing student who was last seen being dragged by a man wearing camouflage.

"I just want her back," she said before nearly collapsing and being led away as reporters tried to ask questions.

"Our daughter was taken from us," added Dana Bobo, who said he felt the attacker "might have been somebody close, somebody who knew her routine."

The family also announced that the community had raised more than $25,000 as a reward.

WSMV TV earlier reported that Decatur County Sheriff Roy Wyatt said investigators found the blood in searching the Bobo's home.

the carport or the home?? or both? or just more lousy reporting?

locals are saying WSMV reported that brother didn't call 911 for an hour after he saw abduction because he thought it was her boyfriend. i am waiting for verification of that. if true, it is a real WTF detail!!
