NBC

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police have issued an AMBER Alert for a missing 10-month-old girl.

Officials are looking for Lisa Irwin who was last seen in her crib at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday night at a residence in the 3600 block of North Lister in Kansas City, Missouri.

She is described as follows:

blonde hair
blue eyes
30-inches tall
weighs 26-30 lbs.
has two bottom teeth
a beauty mark on right outer thigh
currently has a cold with a cough and a small bug bite under her left ear.
last seen wearing purple shorts/pants with white kittens printed.
According to a police spokesperson, officers believe a suspect "entered/exited through a bedroom window." Police also say that evidence suggests the child has been abducted.

NBC Action News' Sloane Heller said that the girl's parents were at home at the time she went missing and that they notified police at around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Police on scene tell NBC Action News two other pre-teen children, both boys, live at the house and were home at the time of the abduction, but both were safe and accounted for. They were sleeping in a separate bedroom.

Anyone with information needs to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.

KMBC
Kansas City police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 10-month-old girl who disappeared from her home overnight.
Police said Lisa Irwin was last seen on Monday at 10:30 p.m. asleep in her crib. Officers were called to the house in the 3600 block of North Lister Avenue at 4 a.m. by the girl's parents.

Police could be seen dusting for fingerprints at the home. Initially, officers were closely examining a window.
"A window looked like it might be a point of entry, but we're trying to put all the pieces together," police Capt. Steve Young said.

Police said Lisa has blue eyes and blond hair. She is 30 inches tall and weighs 26 to 30 pounds. She has two bottom teeth, a small bug bite under her left ear, a beauty mark on her right outer thigh and currently has a cold with a cough.

The baby was last seen wearing purple shorts and a purple shirt with white kittens on it.

Call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 if you know her whereabouts.

Detectives were interviewing the girl's parents at the home.

"I realize that some of these Amber Alerts involve parents or parental abductions, but we have both the parents here. So that puts us on a little higher state of alert," police Sgt. Stacey Graves said.

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

She is a doll. I hope she is found alive and well, and soon. Maybe someone who desperately wanted a baby targeted little Lisa? Scary.

This reminds me of Baby Sabrina (Aisenberg) who reportedly disappeared from her crib in 1997, while both parents and two siblings were also asleep in the house. Sabrina is still missing.

off-topic...but i know the case well, and will never believe Sabrina's parents didn't kill her.

Lisa's mother put her down to sleep at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday night, according to police. When Lisa's father arrived home from work at around 4 a.m., he went into her room to check on her and discovered she was missing. The parents immediately called police.

"They saw the window and the screen appeared that it was tampered with," Officer Darin Snapp, public information officer for the Kansas City Police, told ABCNews.com. Authorities believe Lisa has been abducted and that the suspect entered and exited through the bedroom window.

"We are conducting an area canvas, knocking on doors and talking to anyone that was in the area that night," Snapp said. Canines are searching a wooded area behind the family's house.

melinda duckett told that window/screen story also.

From what I have read so far, I did not suspect the parents at all in this one. Now, the fact that the mother was taken downtown leaves me second guessing my initial reaction.

all parents need to be questioned, polygraphed and eliminated (or not) as suspects in cases like this. it is normal.

As did Mariha Smith's mother and/or her sister (Mariha's aunt with whom the family was living). Still not clear what really happened on that one - no one currently in custody.

The press in Kansas City seems to be doing a better job than most jumping on this early and covering the story. Maybe the amber alert and "presumed abducted" status makes it easier for them to get info from LE.

Hoping Lisa's story ends better than that of Mariha Smith (murdered) and Trenton Duckett (still missing after mom's suicide). Please please let Lisa be found safe...

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A woman who lives in the area where police believe a 10-month-old child was abducted, sparking an AMBER Alert , says her husband saw a man carrying a baby early Tuesday morning, but didn’t think anything of it.

Lisa Parscale says her husband was coming home around 12 a.m. Tuesday when he saw the man carrying a baby wearing only a diaper.

“He seen the guy act like he was going to go into a residence,” Parscale said, “but then my husband drove off so we’re thinking that maybe he was just doing that so that my husband would leave.”

Baby Lisa was described as being dressed in her crib. Not sure this is related, but sure it's being checked out by LE.

I saw a segment on Dateline NBC a few months back about eyewitness accounts. They subjected unsuspecting witnesses to acted-out crimes right in front of their faces and then got their statements. It was mind-blowing how many people got the details wrong and identified the wrong perp, just minutes after the event.

But, sometimes eye witnesses get it right. In this case, if the man did see someone with Baby Lisa, it could mean they are still in the area (could mean much worse too, but thinking positively at this point).

Walking down the street with a kidnapped baby, no matter what time of day, is pretty brazen. Removing clothes to be found, or having left at scene, would leave trace evidence.

Not buyin' it.

With a kiddo this young, it's so often familial dispute, abuse, or IF it's stranger abduction, it's by someone wanting a baby badly enough to take one. Or a henpecked man with a very driven, but lazy woman making him bring her a baby. So I guess we have a 6040 this will end with this being a coverup, or baby being returned after a day or two. I'm inclined to be hopeful at this point.

Throughout the morning, investigators could be seen dusting for fingerprints at the home. Initially, police officers were closely examining a window. But authorities stressed that they were looking at all possibilities.

Anyone with information was urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.

Breit reported that the FBI was also involved in the investigation. Agents were seen going inside the house and searching outside it.

KMBC's Micheal Mahoney reported that authorities concentrated some of their search efforts in a wooded area to the west of home.

Mahoney also pointed out that the location of the home is not a place where you can get to by accident. The street is on a windy complex of roads, and he reported that you really have to know where you're going to get to the house.

Did they mention anything about the possible sighting by the neighbor and if they are using dogs, still questioning neighbors...? I couldn't access the live stream.

In one of the early MSM news stories, they gave the father's first name as Jeremy, so I did a search on Jeremy Irwin at the North Lister Street address. This is what I found:
http://www.whitepages.com/name//Kansas-City-MO/3w4pxf8

Jeremy Irwin is "associated" with this P N person. I have no idea at all what that could possibly mean.
