Man sexually abused, assaulted 4-month-old

Errick Noe Rios, 24, is in jail, charged Monday, Aug. 6, in Ramsey County District Court.

"...The boy would finally be so overwhelmed by pain that he would just fall asleep once he finally stopped crying.
...Rios said there were one or two days when he didn't hit the boy, and he was proud of himself."

He admitted he needs help managing his anger.

No mention of the mother. It did say Rios was related to the infant, but didn't say how. Father? I don't know how else he'd have so much access to the boy. Also curious who called the cops? No other local news outlets are reporting this story.

CLEVELAND, Texas -
Liberty County deputies responding to an animal cruelty call at a home in Cleveland found a 16-month-old girl living in "filthy" conditions and possibly in an animal cage.

Investigators were sent to the rural house in the 100 block of County Road 2802 Tuesday at 7 p.m.
"We located a 1-year-old child inside a poor-conditioned residence. That child has been checked by EMS and taken by Child Protective Services. The only adult here has been arrested," said Capt. Rex Evans with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office.

Evans said there were small roaches crawling around the baby.

"We have some indication that the child was being kept in some type of cage in the property. The investigation is preliminary. We will be here all night and well into (Wednesday)," said Evans.

One horse was found dead on the property.

"Deputies did arrive and found several emaciated horses, dogs, cats and even a deceased horse, and we are yet to determine how many other deceased animals are on the property. It does appear there are some," Evans said.

Deputies said the baby's mother, Mable Larson, was taken into custody and charged with animal cruelty. More charges could be filed later.

"The only charge is in regard to the animals. Further investigation will continue. Further charges may be forthcoming," Evans said.

Deputies said they are looking for the girl's father, Aaron Parker, to question him.

Investigators had to wear masks and a special breathing apparatus because of the strong stench in the home, officials said.

Child Protective Services will attend a hearing to determine if the baby should be placed with another relative. ARE THEY KIDDING?? THEY ARE PROBABLY ALL INBRED & MENTALLY DEFICIENT LIKE THESE PARENTS!

How does a person's head get to be that misshapen? A birth defect? The mother looks none-too-bright as well.

The arrest form was shocking, but so was the home on West Flagler Street.

Used needles littered a dirty windowsill beside a bilingual Bible. Piles of brightly colored toys and soiled, smelly clothes covered the floor where cockroaches scurried through kitty litter between two stained mattresses. The smell was overwhelming; a blend of human filth, animal excrement and the stench from an empty, mildewed refrigerator.

As for the adult occupants, Gabriel de Jesus Orellana and Renee Marie Garcia, they were in jail Friday, charged with child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest form by Miami police said they may have been offering their four children — two boys and two girls between the ages of 7 and 13 — for prostitution.

This week’s investigation began with a 911 call to report that Orellana was on a nearby street, hitting his daughter and allegedly soliciting men to have sex with her. When an undercover officer approached on Thursday and inquired, Orellana proffered the phone number of Garcia, the child’s mother.

Garcia answered the phone call from the undercover cop and agreed to have sex with him in exchange for money — if he took her to buy drugs first. He took her to the Overtown area, watching her buy what looked like marijuana. When they got back to the apartment at 971 W. Flagler, the officer arrested both Garcia and Orellana.

The kids were taken temporarily by the Department of Children & Families.

The allegations of child prostitution remain under investigation, police said.

Neighbors interviewed by The Herald said they knew that something was wrong in the corner apartment where the door was always closed and the children were dirty and hungry. David Basterrechea, the building repairman who lives right across the hall, said the family had been in the complex for five months, but everyone was worried about the barefoot children who would roam at all hours of the night.

Basterrechea said he knew that the family was pressed for cash. Recently, he started seeing the children selling boxes of candy near the Walgreens down the street. A few weeks ago, Garcia, the mother, bragged to him that a stranger had offered her money to take the girls to the park and let him watch them play.

“I was thinking, where’s this guy — I wanted to wring his neck for being such a sicko,” Basterrechea said. “But she was like, ‘no, we’re going to wait until Gabe [Orellana] gets home and then we’re going to rob him.’”

Although that plan never unfolded to his knowledge, Basterrechea suspected that the parents were having their children sell more than candy. He said when the Miami police officer who was part of the undercover operation asked Orellana if he could have sex with one of the girls, the father named a price “for either one” of his young daughters — ages 11 and 8.

The police report said that Garcia was the only one who offered to have sex with the undercover officer.

Neighbors said they saw strangers, only men, come and go all the time.

DCF had investigated the Orellana family before, and the children were not supposed to have any contact with their mother, according to agency spokeswoman Lissette Valdes-Valle. They were apparently aware of this restriction and were taught to lie about their relationship to their mother, neighbors said. They told their friends that their mother had died in a car crash when she drove off a bridge many years ago, and the woman living in the apartment was their stepmother.

Teresa Betancourt, the manager of the building and next-door neighbor, often had the four children in her apartment while they played with her 8-year-old granddaughter. She said she was always giving the children food and recently threw a birthday party for the oldest girl. Sometimes the oldest son, 13, who is diabetic, said he couldn’t eat the food she offered him because he didn’t have any clean needles to inject himself with insulin. Basterrechea said the father used his son’s needles for his heroin.

“He [Orellana] was always so high he wouldn’t look at you in the eye,” he said. “But [Garcia], she would have a conversation with you for hours. She would say stuff like, ‘man I took a couple Xanaxes and was out of the house for two days ’til I woke up and found myself sleeping in the bushes.’
As Basterrechea spoke, he looked around the now-vacant apartment, pointing out a broken crack pipe in the corner and an old passport on a table littered with cigarette butts and broken toys.

Most of the material had been pulled out of the trash on the street, Basterrechea said, because Orellana was always combing through other people’s garbage, a habit he passed on to his children.

The children were present at a dependency hearing on Friday afternoon, cleaned up but clearly concerned about what was going to happen to them. The judge allowed them to stay for now with their maternal grandmother.

Evelyn, the young neighbor who used to play with the Orellana children, picked through the piles of toys they left behind, sharing the names of all the dolls and promising to take care of her friends’ cat until they got back. The two daughters were her best friends, she said, and wanted to send them a message while they were gone:

“Tell them I love them.”

---------------------------------------

Melbourne, Florida (FL Today) -- A topless babysitter found lying in a hotel parking lot faces charges after Melbourne police said she failed to watch over a 5-year-old boy whose mother had gone gambling.

Stacey Kerres, 47, of Fort Pierce, was charged with child neglect after Melbourne police were called to investigate reports of a child found alone for nearly an hour late Thursday in the River Palm Hotel, 420 S. Harbor City Blvd.

Police talked to the child, who was sitting with the hotel staff playing a video game, told them his mother had gone to the "casino" and that his mother left him with a woman named Stacey. The child also indicated the woman was routinely put in charge of watching him.

Police searched the property and found Kerres, identified with a dagger and rose ankle tattoo, lying topless in the middle of the parking lot, not far from the room where the boy was staying with his mother, reports show.

Kerres, who police said appeared lethargic and incoherent as she struggled to talk, managed to tell the patrol officers that the child's mother had gone gambling that "I don't even know where (the boy) is right now," reports show.

Police booked Kerres into the Brevard County Jail Complex and searched unsuccessfully for the mother before turning the case over to the Department of Children and Families.

A mother who allegedly traded pornographic photos of herself sexually abusing her six-month-old son has been arrested.

Myriah Moreland, 20, of Montesano, Washington, is accused of trading sexually explicit photographs over social networking sites with Christopher Dupea.

Moreland and Dupea began their online exchanges over Skout, a social networking site, and then continued their explicit exchange via text messages, according to investigators.

The conversation included information that the 20-year-old mother had engaged in sexual acts involving her own son, a statement from the State Patrol’s Missing and Exploited Children’s Task Force.

'There were both images and videos that quite frankly are disturbing, to say the least. Even some of our most tenured and seasoned detectives hadn't seen images like those ever,' Lt. Ron Mead of the Investigative Assistance Division said.

These stories are so depressing. I wish these parents' rights to their children could be immediately terminated so they could be immediately be adopted out (rather than go into the foster care cycle of being shunted between parents and new foster families). Then maybe these kids would have a chance.

Termination of parental rights, state by state

I found this for you Kip. It's pretty long-but does explain the legal process for parental rights termination.

Some of the exceptions are pretty hard to swallow. Since around the 1990's it seems that the courts will do just about anything to keep kids with their bio parent(s). Check out California's exceptions to termination. Some of them make no sense for a child's safety.

Most states make the child remain in foster care for at least a year before allowing for adoption. It's very sad, and I don't believe in the best interest of the children.

PIGS

Elizabeth Lam, 38, left, and Crystal Dawn Craig, 29, were the only adults found living in the Virginia house. Lam is mother to five of the children, Craig is mother to the other three. Both are charged with felony child neglect

A naked two-year-old girl found wandering alone in a convenience store parking lot led Virginia police to a home reeking of rotten trash and animal feces with seven other children living inside.

Two women, Elizabeth Lam, 38, and Crystal Dawn Craig, 29, found living in the filthy Spotsylvania home have been charged with child neglect.

Employees at the WaWa convenience store quickly scooped up the nude toddler before calling the police on Sunday.
Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Captain Mike Harvey said a store employee brought the child inside and put clothes on her before police arrived.

The little girl then led officers to her home, which was located near the store.

Deputy Elizabeth Scott knocked for several minutes before someone finally opened the door.

The two adults inside had been sleeping when Scott had arrived, according to Harvey, adding that once let in the deputy was immediately overcome by the stench of the property.

'Deputy Scott entered the residence and immediately noticed a strong odor of rotten food and animal waste,' he said.

'Rotten food was found in and around the kitchen and animal waste was found in many areas of the residence.
In addition to the two-year-old, there were seven other children living in squalor in the home, police said.

The children, who were also found to be dirty, ranged in age from seven months to 16-years-old.

Lam and Craig were the only adults found living in the house. Both are charged with felony child neglect.

Police say Lam is the mother of five of the children and Craig is the mother of the other three. Each woman is being held in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Detective Twyla DeMoranville, who focuses on crimes against children, and a social worker removed the eight children from the home. They were later turned over to their grandmothers. WHO ARE PROBABLY ALSO PIGS.

Thank you for saying what I have always thought. When CPS turns the children over to grandparents, are they really getting a better environment and care? Who taught these females how to keep house and raise children? Why, their mothers!

Dumb bitches are everywhere..

[i]A woman’s teenage lover murdered her severely disabled toddler while she was on the school run.
She then desperately tried to cover up their affair with the boy, ten years his senior.
Cameron Rose, 18, is alleged to have swung epileptic three-year-old Rhys Lawrie by his right leg into a hard object, causing massive head injuries, jurors at Old Bailey heard.

The court heard how Rose had allegedly attacked the boy two times before the fatal attack while Sadie Henry, Rhys’ mother lied repeatedly to paramedics and police to try to cover up the relationship because she realised it was ‘ill-advised and inappropriate’.
Rose of Eltham, southeast London claimed the injuries were caused by accidental falls and Rhys knocked himself during epileptic seizures the court heard. Rose is accused of beating Rhys four days before he died, and on another occasion in December 2010.
Miss Henry was 26-years-old when she began her relationship with Rose, when he was just 16-years-old.

Sally Howes QC, prosecuting, said: ‘While it is not illegal for a woman to have a sexual relationship with a 16-year old it may be considered by many to be a the very least ill-advised and inappropriate.
‘The apparent need to conceal the truth of the relationship between Sadie Henry and Cameron Rose forms the backdrop of the police investigation into the death of Rhys Lawrie.
‘Sadie Henry lied repeatedly to paramedics, hospital staff and unfortunately to the police in an effort to hide the true events and circumstances surrounding the death of Rhys and two earlier episodes of assault.’
A post-mortem examination found Rhys had suffered serious head injuries three to five days before death, and on the day he died.

He also had extensive, fingertip-sized bruising to his face, ears, body and both legs and his right leg was fractured.
Forensic expert Doctor Nathaniel Cary found that the injuries were ‘atypical for accidental origin’ and were ‘indicative of multiple blunt force impacts and or gripping to the facial area’.
It is alleged that the tibia fracture was caused by Rhys being swung by his ankle.
Sally Howes, prosecuting said that Dr Cary suggested that ‘the fatal head injury arose from Rhys Lawrie being forcibly swung from the right leg causing an impact to his head or face’.
Rhys suffered from a severe epileptic condition and had to go a special school because he was barely able to walk.
Miss Henry, a former army medic, met Rose in 2010 at a bonfire party and the pair kept their sexual relationship secret from his mother, who thought he was staying with his brother when he was at Miss Henry’s flat.
Rose would stay with her from Thursday to Monday over most weekends and had only been left alone with Rhys for long periods three times.

Miss Howes told the jury: ‘This is a man who, on the three occasions when he was alone with this child, this child ended up with injuries, and on the last occasion fatal injuries.’
On the first occasion Rhys was injured, nursery staff noticed that he had severe bruising on his face and was ‘wobbly’ in his chair in December 2010.
When the nursery contacted Miss Henry about the bruises, Miss Howes said: ‘She gave the explanation that Rhys had been falling down quite a lot at that stage.'
The mother later told police that Rose told her he had been playing a game with Rhys and he had fallen off the table.
She did not suspect him because Rose had been so ‘calm and collected’ when he gave the explanation.
On the second occasion, Rose claimed he had accidentally elbowed Rhys in the face while in bed.
The toddler then fell off a kitchen counter as Rose bent down to the freezer to get something cold to hold against his face, he said.
Miss Howes told the jury: ‘When she (Miss Henry) returned Cameron Rose met her in the corridor of the flat saying she was stupid to leave Rhys in bed with him as he had elbowed Rhys quite hard in his sleep.’
The boy’s face was so badly swollen that Miss Henry called an ambulance and said her son had suffered two fits because she knew he would have to be taken to hospital.
Rhys was likely to have suffered brain damage in this incident and the injury could have caused ‘confusion and even unconsciousness’ but he was sent home after treatment.
Four days later, Miss Henry left Rhys alone with Rose again. When she returned, Miss Henry asked Rose about Rhys’ whereabouts.
Miss Howes said: ‘Cameron Rose responded that Rhys was in bed as he had a seizure.
‘He said he had choked and he had to bang him on the back quite hard.
‘Cameron Rose added Rhys’ eyes were rolling and he had foamed at the mouth.
‘Sadie Henry went to the bedroom. Rhys was under the bedclothes. He looked blue in colour. She was later to tell police: “I knew Rhys was dead when I saw him”.’
The mother desperately administered CPR and called the emergency services but nothing could be done to save Rhys.
After Rhys died, Rose told police he did not get on with Miss Henry’s older child, identified only as B, because he had hit him in the face once and he held ‘grudges’ but he claimed he got on well with Rhys.
Rose denies murder and causing Rhys actual bodily harm.

She told reporters afterward, 'I have no comment, and only God can judge me. That’s all I gotta say.'

On Friday, this POS mom was sentenced to 99 years for the horrific abuse of her daughter (eligible for parole in 30 years).

Her four other children were initially put in foster care, but now live with the POS's mother, their grandmother. Not sure how I feel about that living arrangement considering grandma saw what was done to the little 2 year old, rushed her to the hospital, and yet asked the judge to place her daughter on probation rather than jail time.

Hoping grandma is being monitored by CPS regularly, though the agency had investigated her POS daughter and never took action until the 2 year old was taken to the hospital, battered and beaten all over.

Talae Thomas was found lying in a median by police in Plant City, Fl. She told them that she'd lost her baby. Police found the 5 week old at her home. Thomas had drowned the baby and claims that she thought the baby was the devil.

Thomas was a nurse and her family claims that she was a nice and educated woman, but she'd had a history of mental illness (and had been hospitalized prior). She was on medication, but not clear from the article that she'd stopped taking it (highly likely, imo).

This one sounds like a true case of mental illness rather than a fabricated defense excuse, imo. I don't think the exact charges have been released yet.

RIP to the baby and may Thomas be sentenced appropriately to ensure that she can't hurt/kill anyone else or herself.
