Anniversary was more recent actually. Got her a nice bronze necklace and a little handmade bowl to put rings in and such by the sink/countertop.

I don't know who that is, but Smily Tits sounds hot.

I was jumping off sally's remark that you're full of fucking shit Clang.

Emily Titterington is the unfortunate English girl whose asshole parents let her die of literally being full of shit.

P.s. I'm sorry for the partial amnesia your mother's gross negligence caused your brother, unless the missing pieces of his childhood sucked anyway.

I was just surprised you called your parents assholes.

Why shouldn't I? Their over protectiveness and trying to force me to be something I'm not is partially to blame for my current life situation. I'm to blame for being lazy and accepting of being coddled for so long that I'm still struggling with learning how to take proper care of myself and be responsible. Sorry, this should probably be moved. Don't want to derail another thread by making it all about me.

TICKED OFF

^ Keith and Jo Rogers, 40, of Shawnee, Oklahoma went camping in the Rocky Mountains.

During their vacation, Jo felt sick and thought she had the flu.

[Image: 2B5CA5BC00000578-0-image-a-3_1439559316716.jpg]
Turns out, she'd been bitten by an American Dog Tick ^ and contracted Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.

Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever is named for the rash it causes, but Rogers' family say she didn't get the spotted rash.

The CDC sees around 2,000 reported cases in the US each year, with most cases occurring in the central states such as Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas.

If treated very early, less than 1 percent of patients die. If left untreated for days, the mortality rate is 75%.

The bloodborne illness is caused by bacteria called Rickettsia rickettsii; it damages blood vessels and causes them to inflame. Amputations are necessary to prevent its spread to central organs.

Jo was untreated for five days. She had to have all of her limbs amputated and is on dialysis. Terrible for her, her husband, and her two teen-aged sons.

Amazing how one little tick can cause so much damage.

Well that's extremely unlucky.

I watched some show where a little girl died from it. She didn't get the rash either and the parents waited too long to get her to the hospital. They even found the tick on her days before, but didn't associate it with her flu- like symptoms.

That's sad about the little girl. It would be easy to just assume it was the flu for a few days if the rash was delayed.

I'm sure if her hands and feet had looked like this, the parents would have taken her to Emergency.
