missed it, been away from computer, trying to catch up!

72 hours missing is a very bad benchmark statistically.

"Two different types of dogs were brought in that are specialized to deal with missing person types cases"

I wonder what kind dogs these were?

The window was open and the screen was removed"

Do no like the sound of this....

Looking at the pics you posted LC, I can't imagine it would be very easy to get a 6 yer old over the wall?

I don't want to jump to it being the parents right away. Being that there are so many RSO's in the area is scary too.

TUCSON - In their latest update to the media, Tucson Police say they are continuing to investigate and follow potential leads regarding the disappearance of 6-year-old Isabel Celis.

At 10 a.m. today, Tucson Police Chief Villasenor said they are still keeping all their options open at this point, and everyone involved in considered a person of interest.

Two dogs from the FBI are in Tucson, specifically trained in searched urban areas, Villasenor said. One dog is training in tracking scents, the other is a cadaver-sniffing dog.

Over 100 officers remain on this case, and their review of surveillance video from businesses in the area has not yet yielded results. Officers have also checked the nearby landfill, as trash has been collected since Celis went missing.

No ransom note has been left, and no ransom demand has been received by the family at this time, Villasenor said.

I don't like this, from the sounds of it both dogs alerted to things too

TUCSON - In their latest update to the media, Tucson Police say they are continuing to search a three-mile wide radius around the home of missing 6-year-old Isabel Celis.

TPD's Fabian Pacheco says they have identified 17 sex offenders in this area and are checking in on all of them.

They are also searching one of the landfills due to a garbage pickup in the neighborhood over the weekend.

Teams of detectives are also following up on all leads that come in, including tips to their anonymous tip line.

"Anything that comes in, we are responding to it quickly," said Lt. Pacheco.

TPD says that the Celis family is cooperating with detectives, and they have been moved from their house to an undisclosed location.

Prepared statement by the parents:

"We appreciate everyone's interest in finding our daughter, Isabel, and thank all the volunteers who have come out to search for her," the family of Isabel Mercedes Celis said in a statement Monday evening in their first public comments. "We love Isabel and will never give up finding her."

LC, I just can't shake my suspicions on this one. When the parents don't appear themselves and come out and ask (beg, plead) for their child's return, it leaves a bad taste.

I remember the Elizabeth Smart case, her parents were on TV every chance they got begging the public for help in finding their daughter. The Celis family doesn't even beg for help in their prepared statement, it's sounds like something you'd say to people when you're looking for a lost dog.

I'm just too cynical I guess. JMO

To me the differences in this case to the other more recent cases is that police have said the parents ARE cooperating with Law Enforcement. Each parent has been interviewed SEPARATELY for hours. My gut tells me the parents are not involved.

I tried to post a link related to this case, but failed. i hate this stupid
computer; the browser keeps skipping all over the place. Takes an
hour to type one paragragh. Anyway, here in AZ, the latest news is
that the official search has been called off and the investigative phase
will now begin (whatever that means). On the early news a LE official
said they had someone they were looking at very closely, but of course,
he couldn't elaborate. It wasn't mentioned on 10:00 news. i don't know
how much of this is actually true, just what i heard on TV or read on
websites i found.

they are done with landfill search, and active search around home. time to focus on people and circumstances, and info they have gleaned. FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit arrived last night, so it's more actual discussion and analyzing what they know. and without actually saying it, it is shifting into recovery/homicide mode.

8:30 PM local time tuesday

TUCSON - Tucson Police provided new information at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening regarding the disappearance of Isabel Celis.

Police say they have "refreshed" the search warrant on the family home. TPD says this is being done in order for the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit to go inside the home and evaluate it.

TPD also says the family continues to be cooperative.

Meanwhile, police say they will scale back their search operations and continue to focus on the investigative portion of this case. Investigators have mostly completed a canvas within a 3 mile radius of the home. Search operations will continue to be revised as warranted, which means they could revisit some areas if they receive information to do so.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police report that FBI Behavioral Investigators have completed a search at the home of missing 6-year-old Isabel Celis. That team is working on a suspect profile.

Police say that the Celis family has chosen not to return to their home near Broadway and Craycroft at this point. The street the family lives on is still restricted, but could reopen Wednesday morning.

We are just hearing that police have removed what appears to be folded fabric or a carpet & some pillows from the family’s car outside the missing 6-yr-old girl’s home. The car, seen parked outside the home, obviously has drawn the attention of investigators, since we are getting in video showing crime scene techs with gloves on removing items. What did they find inside that car? Is it linked to missing 6-yr-old Isabel Celis?

i never trust her information until it is verified by LE. family car should have been searched days ago!

edit to add: as usual nancy is way behind excitedly reporting 2-day old shit. that car search took place monday. this was wednesday.

Clues for Missing Tucson Girl Isabel Celis Sought in Surveillance Video

The answer to how 6-year-old Isabel Celis disappeared from her Tucson home last Saturday may be found in surveillance videos from neighboring houses and stores, police said today.

One camera is attached to a home just 75 yards away and points directly at the Celis family's house, while others are attached to nearby businesses. Police hope they could yield clues to the girl's overnight disappearance.

If the cameras did catch something-it could be a huge break in the case. Even if they can't ID the perp, at least it could dis/prove the abduction theory.

In the video, Mom seems to be trying to suck it up and present herself on behalf of Isa, not so much dad. He has the Susan Smith can't open my eyes and look out at the world watching look. Probably means nothing. Bless this child wherever she may be.

More news on the surveillance video. If the video shows activity around the home early that morning, LE should have a scenario to go with, or even a suspect if the video is clear enough.

I hope they have been able to pick something up from the survelliance video. They are owned by moores security so I'm guessing they are high technology cameras.
