I'm hardhearted then. I have a problem with men who cry at the drop of a hat. I am understanding when they do it when a loved one dies or at the birth of their children but most anything else screams pussy to me. *ick*

He doesn't cry at the drop of hat. He just gets emotional when he talks about is Dad cuz he passed away. And his family sometimes. Funny thing is he never wanted to be a paster. But when his father died, he stepped into his shoes and has grown their church into what it is today. I enjoy watching him because he isn't all preacy. He is more about common sense and positive attitudes.

Aussie, have you ever heard of Joyce Meyer?

I think that's wrong. Hahaha! I do! Tears are to be shed privately or only in the company of people who care about you. Tears are not for sharing.

Joyce has been through hard times in her life. I listen to her if she is on. I will listen to any of them if I don't think they are fake. I think there are some fakers out there though, unfortunately.

Another favourite for me is Joseph Prince. He is very knowledgeable.

I think I may feel this way because I have a vision in my head of how "real" men conduct themselves. In my world, if I see a man crying I know immediately that whatever is the cause is bad, very bad.

I'm not being godly, am I.

God "gets" me.

In your world when a man cries does it mean one of the horses died? Or there is no beer in the fridge?

That was just dumb. 95

It means something of significance has happened. It surely doesn't have anything to do with crying in front of thousands, if not millions of people in the hope they will feel your pain & open their wallets. I find all of those people to be disingenuous...

...and further more, if he were a real man he would be wearing the pants in the family, he's not, she is.

28 I think ramsey just rocked your mock, Duchess!

P.s. I feel the same way about televangelists (male or female) crying for the audience or any public declarations when there is reward/benefit clearly attached. I might be too skeptical in that area, but a show is a show, to me. What do you do when the cameras aren't on? That means more to me.

I just watched an interview with Mr. Osteen after I read your thread, aussie. The video link was sittin' at the top of the CNN page since last week so I gave it a watch. He doesn't seem as over-the-top as the old school (and totally hilarious) televangelists, I'll say that. I read that he gets 7 million viewers a week and is worth $40 million, so he must be doing something right. Here's the video link to his interview with Wolf Blitzer last week if you're interested.

Thanks HoTD. I watched it. He is a very soft spoken gentle man. When we watch their services we sing along to their songs at the beginning, they have a great band.

I prefer his other book, Everyday a Friday.

Apparently he was saying that studies have shown that Friday is the most popular day of the week, when people report feeling the most happiest.
