The 4th of July is race day, it's just another work day in the horse business, that's why I was going to have my pool party Saturday night. However, it's all good because it will the start to a lovely, long weekend.

You've got the life!

I wanna come to your pool party too. Dicks not the only one around here that can throw good parties ya know!

I have a couple of days of metal detecting planned.

Where do you go and what domou look for?

I have a couple of calvary campsites programmed into the GPS that I found while looking through the troop movement records plus a few other sites that were listed as homesteads and 2 older carnival sites that were listed in local area history via newspaper articles from the events, I find anything that is made of metal.

You have to do something. Who does nothing? That's kinda sad.

You are going to die alone if you don't change your attitude. How can you not at least have a cheeseburger or burnt hotdog off the grill? I have to trade holidays, too. No kid holidays are adult time. Maybe take your girlfriend down to the gas station and blow her back up...

It took me a minute to comprehend the end of your post hah

In the office catching up on things in the morning.

Taking a drive down to Half Moon Bay in the afternoon (great summer flowers at the nursery by the brewing company).

Getting things done around the house and maybe watching some fireworks from the roof in the evening.

Peaceful and productive Day of Independence.

Every year we get together with my wife's sisters and their husbands at a place on Lake Minnetonka.

95F forecasted for Wednesday. Should be a great day to be at the lake. Kids will have a blast and hopefully I can get 5 or 6 beers in during the day.

Fireworks over the lake around 10:00pm. Our mosquitos are terrible this year. Hope we can all make it without being eaten alive.

Ma, we'll have to give that a try. The 'Off' brand is functional but certainly not perfect.

That's really cool...what's the most interesting thing you have ever found? No shit...once we found a confederate artillery shell...it was whole...we had to defuse it or whatever you call it. Apparently many of them were duds and were shot out of the canons but didn't explode upon landing. The metal detector went nuts ...we knew whatever it was it was big.

That sounds beyond cool...to watch the fireworks from your roof in San Francisco. I went there on a business trip years ago...what a FABULOUS city!

Let me know what you think. I hate those sprays, but that one is the least sticky and offensive smelling and it really keeps the skeeters off your peter so to speak.

We've been marinating these sirloin tips in balsamic vinaigrette for 48 hours now, they should be unbelieveable this afternoon. I'm going to the gym this morning to spot myself an extra 700 calories for today Smiley_emoticons_smile

Headed to the lake to hang at the sandbar all day. 102 degrees here today. I cannot remember the last day we had under 90, and no relief in sight. This is Texas and Arizona weather...who the hell moved it to NE Indiana?
No fireworks...burn bans all over the place.

Thunderstorms in our future, so we'll probably be grilling indoors. Family (almost everyone) should be showing up mid afternoon, and I only have to work til 1pm or so. My wife is on call till 7 but its a call in scene and everythings dead here in hotel land until the balloon fest starts tomorrow so it should be an interesting day, people wise.

I just hate the after fireworks exit. 5000 people and one little driveway to get out.
