I think it might be exceedingly frustrating to be cooperating only to be told over & over that you're hiding something or you're not being completely honest or or or whatever the hell else is said in these situations.

I'm sure it is very frustrating. You wonder why are they focusing on me when some nut has my child? However, I would take whatever they threw at me because I would know I am not guilty.

Apparently they did for several days & now they are fed up. I'm not defending them it's just that I can see why they would choose to do what they did.

I see your point Duchess. I just know myself and I would never stop helping or cooperating with the authorities until my children were found.

they lawyered up because of their records being revealed. i don't blame them and i don't think they killed the kids. but i do think it may be connected to their histories/associates. unless it was an accident and they drowned. i'm still on the fence.

but i do remember Marc Klaas, who always said when his daughter was missing, that he'd stand naked on police station steps and take 7 polygraphs if it helped find Polly. investigate me! he said.

I kinda think their past has something to do with this. Just a bad feeling and which the father coming up on a trial???

I don't know but something is telling me these girls are dead. I pray I am wrong but I have had a bad feeling about this one from the start.

I can't help but think they know something... Maybe aren't directly responsible... But have an idea what happened.

There are trials coming up next week for associates of Dan's. Maybe he's supposed to testify and someone wants to shut him up?

EVANSDALE, Iowa - Law enforcement authorities turned the week-old mystery into two missing little girls into a criminal matter.

Black Hawk County Sheriff's Captain Rick Abben announced Friday afternoon that they are considering the disappearance of Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 10, and Elizabeth Collins, 8, as an abduction.

He said the case changed after professional divers did not find the girls in the bottom of Meyers Lake in Evansdale, which has been the focus of their search for the past week.

Once investigators were confident the girls were not in the lake, Abben said they could now call the case an abduction. They also no longer believe the girls are simply lost because they would have been found.

Grandma and Misty go to Heather Collins home everyday for grandma to watch Heather's 4 kids (Elizabeth is one of Heather's kids) and Lyric while Misty is at work. Once Misty is off work-Lyric and Grandma head back to Grandma's house. Dan lives separately from Misty and Lyric.

I don't agree that Misty and Dan know nothing. I am not saying that they killed, harmed or sold the girls (as I can see no reason for them to do so at this point) but they know something that could help LE. Innocent parents don't "lawyer up", quit talking to LE and the media. Their criminal records are a fact that Misty and Dan need to own. If they are truly innocent they should be talking to LE and helping in any way possible to get their daughter home.

ETA: The cops are not saying that they suspect Dan. Dan himself and others have been quoted as saying Dan "feels like a suspect".

I don't know much about this case, so bear with me.

If mom and dad are druggies, they could have been in contact with some nasty people. Someone they know nothing about other than drug connections. Wouldn't be the first time some 'friend' abducted someone's kids. However, given that she was in prison and Lyric was living with grandma (was she having much contact with dad?), dirtbag types may not have been around. Dunno on that.

Doesn't it sound like this couple has been cooperative with police, including taking polygraphs? If that's so, and the cops are focusing on Dan, and if Dan is innocent (IF), he needs a lawyer. That might not seem right but if he thinks they're getting ready railroad him, he's in trouble and being cooperative won't help him. Innocent people DO get arrested and convicted. Just trying to put myself in the shoes of someone who is innocent and being zeroed in on as their child's killer. Cops don't have to say he's a suspect. It's what goes on in the interrogations that matters.

girls are missing one week today.

As the FBI and police focus their search for two missing cousins at a lake, Tammy Brousseau, the girl’s aunt, says that they wouldn’t have gone into the lake and thinks they were abducted.

she babbles like she's on crack. blah blah blah blah

She made sense, though. The mention of the RSOs gave me chills after following the Shunick case.

Children aren't safe out on their own. Sad, sad, sad.

I know people deal with stress differently...but if one of my children were missing, I don't think I'd be smiling it up at the bar. I could understand if this had been going on for months, sure, you'd need some time every now and then to decompress. But it's been a WEEK...I'd still be a high strung mess.

Well, I won't refrain from commenting. That DOES NOT look like a mother who is the least bit concerned about her child who is missing & may be dead! I'd be willing to bet she could be certified as a retard too!

I understand your desire to be fair & that's normally the side I like to be on but seeing them smiling infuriated me. Now isn't the time for photographs depicting a happy family occasion in order to capture memories.

There's fair, and there's realistic. We all know what's up here.
