Going for brunch in a couple of hours. Dungeness crab and spinach poached eggs, home fries, and a couple of bloody marys.

HotD, Have you ever eaten at Green's Restaurant? My son in SF informed me that we have reservations there for brunch. He and his wife have eaten there before and love it. Leaving for SF in 4 days. Smiley_emoticons_smile

I did eat there once, it was really good. I don't go to the Marina district much though, it's so hard to park.

Have a fun visit, Teacher! A couple of other places that I think are great, if you have time:

Zazie in Cole Valley. Awesome bistro menu and food, heated outside patio, really nice atmosphere. Best for dinner, imo.

The Ramp in the China Basin (only if it's warm enough - it's on the dock, so bring a jacket anyway). Really laid back, outside on the water or indoor pub, good menu and drinks. Best for lunch - really good chowder.

Thanks for your reply and for the two recommendations. I've already e-mailed him re Zazie and The Ramp. I will have a fun visit - just seeing my son's smiling face will do it. Plus we are going to Tahoe and Reno during our visit. Absolutely can't wait!

Thanks, Duchess. I am more than excited to see him! I'm the type of mom who wanted to chain them to their beds so they'd never leave. Smiley_emoticons_smile Tried to raise them to be independent and just overdid it. He first moved to SF when he was in his 20's; met his wife; married and lived in Manhattan for 9 yrs; back to SF about 13 months ago. Fortunately, my other son is about 70 miles away.

Please pray for a safe flight. I'm already getting stressed over it.

The weather is fantastic here right now, Teacher. Not even the usual wind. Have a great flight.

P.s. I posted some pics from brunch at The Ramp today in the photography thread. Truly unusually warm and perfect weather, even on the water.

Valium I'm familiar with. I didn't have any when the last hurricane was coming & a friend gave me a xanax. I like them way better, they aren't nearly as "heavy" as a valium, if that makes any sense.

Just a tip... if you need the edge off and don't have valium or Xanax, Benadryl will do the trick - take two if one doesn't work. Has a similar effect, without the addiction danger.

I'm hungry for a capicola, swiss cheese and avocado sandwich with Italian dressing on a sour dough roll.

We used to get them at the sub shop in high school. Suddenly, I've gotta have one...

I want a beer too.

I think I'm having Chinese left-overs and water instead. Smiley_emoticons_slash
