Fuck. That looks so much better than the Dominos pizza I had for dinner.

Happy National Pizza Day, everyone!

It was a dark and stormy night, late maybe 11:00 pm on a wed work night. Everyone was sleeping and I was restless.
I could hear the wind howling outside and with a twinkle in my eye headed slowly towards the kitchen. I had found what I was looking for.
In the cooler was a pound and a quarter of 85% lean mean beef.
I grabbed it and discarded the wrapper stripping the beef naked. I asked myself ....what do I do now? with an egg and 1 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ cup milk
I kneaded the mixture like it needed me. The joy of squeezing and kneading and letting the goodness ooze between my fingers sent shivers through my olfactory nerves as the smell seeped into the corners of the room.

Next I needed a cup of mozzarella cheese to continue longer than even I expected.
I divided the beef into separate loafs and when I realized they couldn't stay separated for long I but one to bed covered it with cheese and put the other one on top pushing down until they were one again.

For some spice and vigor I made a special lubricant.......................... 1 cup ketchup
¼ cup brown sugar, tightly packed
1 TB worcestershire sauce
1 TB red wine vinegar
2 cloves garlic, crushed
⅛ tsp salt
pinch cayenne pepper

I put the lubricant on the beef that was hugging the cheese with a frenzy and a flash, pinching it all around to entice inner heat. It was done. Into the preheated oven it went for 50 min.

When they were steaming and baking in their own juices I stopped them and gave them more lubricant and slammed them sideways into a 450 deg oven for another 15 min.

By now it was 2AM and as I sat there smiling and sweating from the exertion completely fulfilled after a great night of feeding the hot need within ...........I was exhausted and drifted off to a sweet slumber with a smile.

That sounds interesting. I'll have to try it sometime.

I'm not a huge ketchup fan(not even fries, I use ranch or bleu cheese) but meatloaf is the one dish I love putting ketchup on.

Oh yeah, cold meatloaf on soft sour dough with a dill pickle on the side is fucking good stuff.

I've been on this diet since January 2nd and I'm down 12 pounds; a meatloaf sandwich sounds like heaven right now.

My body is noticably smaller, but my goddamned cheeks are still fat. Ah well.... I feel good and I'm not hungry or feeling deprived or anything. Shrimp, chicken, spinach, eggs, beef. Going without bread or rice isn't hard for me. But, no tortilla chips, crackers, and especially no potatoes kinda sucks. I've found a good solution for the lack of crackers though. Turkey bacon is actually really good, very low cal, and no carbs. I cut each strip into six pieces, fry up a bunch of squares, and use them like crackers. They're pretty delicious with a bit of egg, mustard, and a crumble of cheese.

Today, I had 15 shrimp with lemon and pepper + a cup of garlic chili spinach + a hard-boiled egg. I smoked a little stuff from an old tin I found in the back of a drawer and I'm drinking the rest of my calories and carbs (2.5 glasses of Cabernet, living large), watching The Big Lewoski for the millionth time and doing 50 squats every 15 minutes. I love John Turturro in whatever he does, but I think Jesus the pedo bowler is probably my favorite role of his. I love that damn purple polyester jumpsuit, long ponytail, and the long painted pinky nail for some reason.

Squat time......

I like John Turturro too. I even find him attractive in an odd sort of way.

There is an advantage to having some extra fat in your cheeks as you age. You'll age less. My friend and her husband were both really overweight and when they started losing the weight it came off in their face too and aged them both about 10 years.

I spelled the dude's last name wrong. :(

If you haven't watched that HBO miniseries The Night Of from last year, John Turturro is great in it, sal. It was a little bit slow and dragging at the end, but a good crime story.

Tomorrow night a couple of friends are coming over. I'm making deviled eggs and shrimp cocktail, slow cooked pork roast and vegetables, and some kind of a birthday cake (which I won't be able to eat).

Pizza, Ruffles, ranch dip, and double fudge brownies would be easier and cheaper, but those days are gone and I like cooking anyway, just not looking forward to going to the store today. I'll probably wait til after 9pm so I'm not stuck in the checkout line for a half an hour again.

I thought you spelled his name wrong because my spell check said so, but I wasn't sure how to spell it and didn't feel like looking it up so I just went with it.

I'm going to Downtown Disney so I don't plan on dieting there. Well not with the alcohol anyway.

That sounds fun. I hope your daughter doesn't tell Goofy he's probably got heartworm disease and dying, and hope it doesn't rain on you.

Feels like it's been raining here every day or night for weeks. We need it and I like the rain, as long as I'm not stuck in a crowd with a bunch of people trying to read their phones, hold an umbrella, and walk at the same time. Hoodies, assholes.

It's nice here, sunny in the high 70s. We are at the hotel pool, I can't wait to get the he'll out of here and go eat. I haven't ate yet because I'm saving my appetite for Chinese dumplings and sashimi at morimotos.

Sounds like a pretty perfect day. The weather is exactly the same here for the first time in a while, gorgeous.

I trimmed the bushes, swept the stairs and the sidewalk, and headed out back to pick weeds soon. Feels good to have some sun on my face.

Wish there were some Chinese dumplings in my future, but that's not happening. Definitely gonna do sashimi with plenty of wasabi one day next week though; that sounds so good.

Downtown Disney! I'd ask if you went into the House of Blues but you've got the baby. Next time can you go to the Wilderness Lodge? Did you stay away from open water and stick strictly to the pools?

It looks like whipped cream with a cherry on top.

I love the hot and sour soup we had at Morimoto's. This wasn't like the stuff they have at every Chinese buffet across America, it was a thousand times better. I could eat it everyday and it's great for a hangover. And its filling but not fattening. I'm going to try to figure out how to make it, but it has some ingredients that I'll probably have to order if I can't find it at the Asian grocery store.
