CIA DIRECTOR RESIGNS
Are you really believing the line that Benghazi came about organically from protests over a film? That's already been debunked as an outright fabrication...

Petraeus is eyebrows deeps in something about Benghazi, and this story is part of it. Something is not right about the timing, the details, and the coverage. I suspect it will continue to spiral out of control... maybe the truth will come out. Maybe it's about gun running, maybe it's about illegal interrogations. Who knows?

But what it is not about anymore is how we came to have dead Americans. It's turned into a silly story about whores.

That in and of itself is suspicious to me.

Why are you guys so quick to believe that it's something more than it appears?

I think I'm alone on this one... I think everyone else thinks it's a simple case of whores.

Ummm, no, JimBone.

I don't necessarily believe that. I do believe that the affair itself was definitely kept from public view until after the election. However, it turns out that a couple of Republican congressmen were made aware of it the last week of October.

I'm curious about this Kelley woman. Married to a surgeon, obviously well off. Why was she so interested in being connected to the military? What was she after? 20K-30K emails between she and Gen Allen. Holy hell that's a TON!

Connected enough to Petraeus that his lover felt the need to threaten her. Both gentlemen hold prominent positions within the government AND Middle East issues. I'm sure it's just an illicit affair gone bad, but to me, there's got to be more to this.

I think it's a complex case of snake slaves and paramours, each with a plethora of tentacles overlapping and tickling many other issues (including those related to national security).

Lots of tickling, but no one's laughing now...

I've read that her & her husband are having financial difficulties, I have no facts to back that up and consider it gossip...for now.

So for Jill Kelley, ultimately, this could be an old-fashioned case of blackmail?

Positioning herself (Ha!) among enough brass that one rainy day, she'd be able to call in some financial favors?

Sounds more plausible to me.

As far as Petraeus and his mistress, I think she fell hard for him, and was most likely NOT the one who ended the relationship.

None of this would've come to light if Petraeus could've stayed away from Kelley.

Why not? Whores is a great word that I don't get to use much... so I am cashing in on this story.

I don't think any of this is anything more than what it appears but really, what the hell do I know. They all played with fire & now they are getting burned.

Are you really that naive? This has nothing to do with that affair; it has everything to do with destroying Petraeus' reputation to discredit him before he can testify before congress about Benghazi.

Just so you people know, top government officials do not have private email. They communicate by cable in a closed system. The system is designed so this cannot happen.

Remember, NSA (No Such Agency) can read anything it wants. That includes everything on the internet, all emails, all phone calls (land line or cell) and everything stored electronically. Believe me, they can read your hard drive even if the computer is not connected to the internet. They can go through the electric grid.

This is why Bin Laden's compound had no connection to the outside world. No phone lines, no electric lines, no cable tv; they were self contained.

This administration armed the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya to help defeat Muammar al- Qaddafi. They are now doing the same thing in Syria; read the New York Times.

Remember Ambassador Stevens met with the Turkish Consul General Ali Sait just before the attack took place in Benghazi.

Something is very wrong here.

And the idiots in this country just wrote this administration a blank check; I pray you are prepared when it gets cashed.

I don't see evil lurking around every corner, Pappy. I don't even much care about this story. I simply wanted to rag on another dumb sumbitch who couldn't keep his pecker in his pants.

Then you are a fool.

You are going to wake up in a country where you are property, and the man in your life can do what he wants with impunity as long as he is a "good" Muslim.

I think the people at the center of this scandal did some very foolish shit that is now biting them in the ass, especially Broadwell. Not a particularly prudent paramour. I don't think it's a set-up in that regard; the indiscretions did indeed occur imo.

However, I have no problem believing that the timing of the details being released to the public (and the extent thereof) could have been strategically "driven" by adminsitration insiders to occur before the hearing. Not saying that I believe it to be fact, just that it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

You're in politics and you've got a bunch of dirty laundry in your closet that others can see starting to pile up and smell, you're in a position to have it bundled up and used against you to further or distract from a larger issue. That's part of the political game (and business too, to some degree). JMO...

I love a good conspiracy as much as the next guy/gal, but if the idea here is to discredit any testimony that Petraeus will give, I think intelligent people will see through that.

His pecker got him in trouble, and that's the crux of the issue right now. No one is saying he wasn't a competent commander/CIA director.

Poor decision making on the one hand, I don't believe affected his other duties.

BUT, I do hope it all comes out in the wash.
