SUPER BOWL SUNDAY

His commercial from a couple years back where he's talking to the young boy at the park was great.

I agree that he's clean cut, would appear to stay away from trouble and I love it when he hands out footballs.

Well, I've nailed my Super Bowl matchup.

Everyone nationally, and guys I know, don't think Denver stands a chance.

I think that bodes well for the Broncos. They can relish the role of 'nobody believes in us'.

Can Denver protect Manning and can they pressure Cam enough? Two vital questions.

Also, the Panthers are a different team when they're not playing with the lead.

I feel it's imperative that Denver gets off to a good start or I think they'll get steamrolled like the Seahawks and Cardinals.
The biggest obstacle Denver has to overcome is how to put up more than 21 points against the Panthers. Their cover defense was outstanding yesterday and took Brady's head out of the game by simply taking away his first look receiver. If they try that against the Panthers, Cam will run it on them. I'm hoping it will be a good game, but I'm expecting a blow out.

No, and no.

Carolina has plenty of "nobody believes in us" left over from limping into the playoffs last year from a division everyone called trash. Then they beat the Cards, lost to the Seahawks, and damn near went undefeated this year. They've proven they're legit. Only one last thing to prove.

They have vultures in the secondary and one of the best Mikes in the game. I don't foresee Manning throwing quite as many 5050 balls as Palmhead did, but he's going to have a tough time finding holes in that defense, and the run game gets sifted thoroughly by Luke.

As BG said, I don't think Denver's defense is good enough to stop Carolina's offense the way that Carolina's defense can stop Denver's offense. Maybe it will come down to coaching, but I see Carolina walking out with the victory.

I'm still rootin' for Peyton. Cam has a lot of years to win rings, Peyton doesn't.

How about Teddy getting the nod as a Pro Bowl alternate?

Harrison Smith too.

Being named as an alternate in the pro bowl is akin to being the first loser in NASCAR.

I understand that, but he had bottom 5 numbers of all NFC QB's.

Why the hell would they take HIM?

They need a backup. The pro bowl really isn't a huge deal like it used to be. It's a padding stat that agents use to negotiate contracts. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there wheeling and dealing going on during the selection process.

I disagree.

Just heard Aikman on Sunday talking about how great it was getting the trip to Hawaii and playing in that game.

How long ago did Aikman play?

He wasn't talking from a standpoint of some obscure nobody that had done nothing in his career.

The guy played in 3 Super Bowls and it was clear from the way he was talking that going to the Pro Bowl in Hawaii was one of his best memories.

Back then it was a big deal MS. Now players look at it as nothing more than a waste of time with a possibility of injury sprinkled on top.

I'm surprised they don't play that game in slippers with a beer in their hands.

It's really become a joke. I used to enjoy watching it too, but it's gone to shit.

Are the players required to be there?

Never mind. I went looking for info on it and discovered a number of players have declined to play in it for a variety of reasons.

I agree the game itself has become a joke.

I don't watch it.

And getting injured is no longer a possibility.
