I don't think Jose saw it either.
I thought there was one, but then I forgot. Is Jose my boyfriend because I forgot that too?
Sad about Jose Fernandez and his two friends dying in such a terrible accident. RIP.

I just saw that authorities have ruled the speed they were traveling was a contributing factor. I hope they died quickly and without pain.

Fernandez's high school friends Emilio Macias, 27, and Eddy Rivero, 25, were killed in the accident. Will Bernal was part of the circle of party friends. He just shared with The Mail some text message he exchanged with Rivera that night. Bernal says that he's racked with guilt over not pushing harder to stop Rivera from boarding the boat.

Bernal's text messages indictate that he didn't want to get on the boat at that time, in the dark after a night of partying, and he was worried about his buddy doing so when Jose was so upset and stressed out. I hope Bernal isn't looking to profit off of the tragic deaths.

Former Israeli President Shimon Peres died following a stroke on Wednesday. He was 93.

I wish he'd seen his dream of lasting peaceful co-existent between Israel and Palestine recognized in his lifetime.

Mr. Peres was key to establishing the post-war Israeli state and later signed the Palestinian peace deal.

Shimon Peres was awarded the Nobel peace prize in 1994 with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat for signing the Oslo Accord in the hope a two-state solution would bring peace to the region.

He is remembered as a politician, a statesman, a family man, a humanitarian, a visionary, and the man who helped negotiate the long-lasting alliance between the U.S. and Israel.

His funeral was held today. Current and former leaders from all over the world were in attendance, including Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. Even Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas also was in attendance - his first visit to Israel since 2010.

Rest in peace Shimon Peres.

It was a horrible crash. It's being reported that the boat hit the jetty at full speed.

CNN posted a picture that Jose had recently posted on his Instagram, it was his pregnant girlfriend cradling her belly and he expressed how glad he was that she had come into his life. Sad Sad Sad

The autopsy report was just released. It doesn't make the deaths any less sad, but does confirm some of the previous speculation.

Fernandez was almost double the legal blood alcohol level and had cocaine and other substances in his system when he died.

His two friends were below the legal blood alcohol level and one of them had cocaine in his system.

The report says that all three died of blunt force trauma to the head and the body. The ME says it's not clear who was driving the speeding boat when it crashed; that's probably good for Fernandez's girlfriend and family - it will be more difficult for anyone to sue Fernandez's estate for wrongful death.

Hallelujah

RIP Mr. Cohen.

I've always loved his dark and moody voice and lyrical tales -- such sexy stuff.
Is that the guy that did a PBS special last year? He looked 80 yrs old.
I just checked and yeah it was him. I hate to say it but I could only stand 10 min of it. He certainly is a good songwriter though.

I don't care for his singing either. He made Hallelujah way too creepy.
Leonard Cohen is the writer and original performer of 'Hallelujah".

He was a lot like Bob Dylan (or vice versa, actually). A lot of people don't like their voices, but really appreciate their lyrics. I like both of their voices, but I'm weird, so...

K.D. Lang has an incredible voice, in my opinion. Here's her cover of "Hallelujah."

Oh. Sorry but I still prefer the Rufus Wainwright version

Thanks for posting that, Clang. Awesome version of the song.
Who By Fire.

One of my faves.

Florence Henderson dead at 82

Florence Henderson, who wrangled six unruly kids in a blended family on TV's "The Brady Bunch," died Thursday night. She was 82.

Kayla Pressman, Henderson's manager, said the actress died of heart failure surrounded by family and friends in Los Angeles.

At the time of her death, Henderson was hosting a talk show, "The Florence Henderson Show," and a cooking show, "Who's Cooking With Florence Henderson," on Retirement Living TV — showcasing the versatility that kept her in the public eye for decades.

She started in show business as a singer and soon moved into acting, studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. She was soon starring in musicals — notably the touring production of "Oklahoma!" — and she made her Broadway debut at age 18 in the 1952 musical "Wish You Were Here."

Beginning in 1954, Henderson gave almost 1,000 performances playing the title role in the Broadway hit "Fanny."

TV soon took notice. Henderson was one of what were then called "Today Girls," delivering the weather on NBC's TODAY.
