It's being reported that republicans knew about this days ago and doubled their efforts to get Kavanaugh confirmed, or as that cunt Mitch McConnell said, we are going to plow through. What an absolute piece of shit that old bastard is. I'm enjoying every nano second of their discomfort & concern regarding all this.

Did you hear McConnell deriding and lecturing Dems in his press conference this morning?   hah

No doubt...............there are major political games being played by both sides right now.  It's kind of strange to see the Dems fighting toe to toe with Republicans and not waving a white flag in the first inning.  I expect to see them doing that a lot more on a regular basis.

Anyway, McConnell lecturing anyone about political games is hilarious shit.  He who pledged that the full obstruction of the Republican senate would limit Obama to one term before Obama had even been sworn in.  He who wouldn't even consider a very reasonable SCOTUS nominee by Obama and kept the seat open for over a year.  He who abolished the filibuster to help push controversial conservative policies through legislation.  And, so on...

McConnell's a dick, but he's smart.  I think he knows that he looks like a raging hypocrite and probably realizes that the majority of citizens aren't likely stupid or apathetic enough to forget / ignore all of his obstructionist partisan bullshit when weighing anything he spouts.  But, I don't think he cares because his target audience is the minority of people who swallow it whole.

I didn't see it but I heard about it. Serious question, why do you think the people who support these men are never insulted by their treatment? The supporters are treated as if they are blind, deaf & dumb on an almost daily basis.

Kavanaugh is trottin' out the little woman tonight for an interview on FOX. 78

I think some of their supporters are truly ignorant and simply believe whomever is speaking for their party at any given time. They don't assess how it will impact their lives and don't know or care about history.

Other supporters likely know what's going on and don't feel insulted because they believe they're 'in on' a justified 'winner take all' strategy for their party/ideology over competing parties/ideologies.

I'm not surprised that Kavanaugh is going on FOX with his wife tonight.  I thought it was weird that he had his wife and daughters at all of the nomination hearings.  I find taking your whole family to a job interview strange -- it came across to me as a calculated attempt to make him look more appealing to women (despite his opposition to women's rights to choose) and to deter senators from asking questions that people wouldn't normally broach in front of people's kids.

Those are just my speculations / opinions.

It's completely fricken weird. All of it. The school girls he had in there one day, the wife & daughters sitting behind him, the fact he is going on a cable network that's basically a propaganda machine for the prez and claiming he never sexually assaulted anyone and that he was a virgin then and remained one for years afterwards. None of this is normal. And seriously, what 17 year old keeps a fucking calendar of his day to day life. There isn't an eyeroll big enough for some of this bullshit.
He needs to defend himself and his integrity and not let a smear campaign destroy his life. I do not blame him at all. The Dems have gone all out on this a big nothing. I say let her talk, let her lay it out and give out supportive evidence from her friends, family and past acquaintances. Don't just write a letter and think it ends there. He has every right to be mad at someone that puts out info then backs off.

It is still more info than his accuser has.

Are you aware that the people who he used as character witnesses, for lack of a better word, have asked that their names be removed from the letter? His roommate at the time has gone on record as saying Kavanaugh was often incoherently drunk.

I agree he has the right to defend himself so I find it puzzling that he wouldn't want the FBI's help in doing so.
The F.B.I's help?  hah  with help like that they may as well just shoot themselves. Let the evidence speak for itself. He was such a geek and has 30 women that agree. All of them plus his fellow classmates. They have already spoken and its written down. These new accusations are meant to mire the process and most people can see it. What is happening is a person is getting blamed for unsubstantiated claims and he is getting an attempt with the court of public opinion of guilty until proven innocent and he has to prove his innocence, not the other way around.

This will bite the midterms in the ass and it wont be the Pubs that get hurt. The true face of the party is out there for everyone to see.
He’s not the person you think he is, or maybe he is and you simply don’t care. Kavanaugh is not worthy of a seat on the Supreme Court. Not by a long shot.
Wasn't Scalia at some weird ass retreat when the gerbil ate his insides out?
Well, Biggie, the Vegas odds on Kavanaugh getting confirmed changed a lot over the weekend and not in Kavanaugh's favor.

Since Friday, Kavanaugh’s confirmation chances fell from 71.4% chance (-250 odds) to 46.5% (+145 odds) at Bovada. (All odds as of 2 p.m. ET on Monday, Sept. 24.) For the first time, “No” has become the favorite (59.2% chance, -145 odds). Essentially, Kavanaugh moved from a favorite to an underdog to be confirmed over the weekend. https://www.actionnetwork.com/politics/k...er-24-2018

And, Michael Avenatti is making the cable news rounds now promising to bring forth very credible witnesses and an additional alleged victim (his new client) within the next 48 hours, which would be one day before Dr. Ford is scheduled to testify.

If you were a betting man (and you are), would you put your money on -50% or +50% chance Kavanaugh winds up warming his ass on the Supreme Court bench?
The loonie left will do what it takes, because the goal is greater than the truth.
So, you're betting that the Republicans and Kavanaugh will be defeated.

Whether he gets knocked out by the truth, the perception of his moral qualifications, or the "loonie left" depends on one's view. And, a TKO is still a defeat, even from the cheap seats.

I won't be surprised if you're right.

The accusers want a full investigation. They've said so repeatedly. It's your people who don't want that done so how do you justify your comment? If you're all about the truth as you imply you would want that too but you don't aaaand here you are name calling again.
He should work in a movie theater cuz he's projecting. Again.
I hadn't read about the "Renate Alumni" crap in the high school yearbook until this morning.

If I was Renate, I'd feel betrayed and pissed too.  And, the lie Kavanaugh's handlers are floating to cover it is stupid.  Nine guys, including Kavanaugh, mention "Renate Alumni" 14 times as one of their achievements, along with heavy drinking and parties. And, the explanation is that they all asked her to dance or some such bullshit.  Idiotic.

Kavanaugh does not belong on the Supreme Court, in my opinion, regardless of Ford's testimony.  His nomination should be pulled. He's dishonest, shows poor judgment (even in adulthood), and he's proven to me that he is not an independent thinker.

I don't like his positions on abortion, executive authority, and religious 'freedom' (discrimination).  I don't like Gorsuch's ultra conservative views either, but didn't think he could/should be rejected.  Gorsuch was a Trump nominee who demonstrated that he was qualified for the Supreme Court regardless of ideology.

By all accounts, McConnell strongly advised Trump against nominating Kavanaugh.  There were so many other candidates to choose from on the religious Federalist Society's list who didn't have so much baggage and would be just as likely to rule against abortion rights.  So, why Kavanaugh?  Because he's pliable and the only one on record saying that a sitting President shouldn't be subpoenaed?  I think that's probably the case.
It matters not who Trump nominates it's that he nominates that drives the left mad. Throughout the confirmation process he was doing great, no problems and that is what scared the left so they scoured the earth looking for anyone, anything no matter how obscure to toss in the fire. These accusers with no memory have no clue how ruthless and gutless the left really is but they will soon find out when it doesn't work.
