Is anyone interested in the games? I probably won't watch, I prefer the Winter games.
They tried to stick those in Boston. I am sooooo glad they didn't. They are a waste of time, unless they build up the city and not hodgepodge together crap. The 62 Seattle worlds fair at least built buildings that were of some use after everyone left hell they built the space needle and it still stands today. If an Olympics is held in any city whatever they build should be of some use later not just a place that looks good in the moment.
I am interested in all the behind the scenes drama that has and will take place before and during the games.
I see the makings of a BRAVO reality show!

I mean, after the Bachelorette concludes this Monday, what's there to watch (outside of the season premier of, "Bachelor in Paradise")?
I have great respect for the athletes but not much for the organizers and the host city that took the bait of greater exposure and backing to preen and strut. A great opportunity to make a better city wasted.
I like Track & Gymnastics.

Not sure why I capitalized them.

I'll watch Phelps swim too.

Yeah, I enjoy the Olympics.
I heard somebody's grandmother got kidnapped already. Brazil is supposedly completely dangerous and corrupt, I don't know if I wanna turn the games on.

I've heard that too. I've also read that the water is filthy and the rooms for the athletes are so bad that one group refused to stay in theirs. Just so you know, I haven't taken the time to confirm that.

I've heard that as well. Along with the fact is was said that the water is filled with sewerage, and the American crew team is having special protective suits for them to wear while rowing!

Why the hell did they choose a hell hole like that for the Olympics?
I'm hoping for an opening ceremony in true Brazilian culture. Topless women in thongs.

It sounds like it's going to be a mess, but don;t they all sound that way as the date gets closer, with everything still unfinished? I honestly dont see why any country would want to host the games nowadays, doesnt appear that they come close to recouping the major investment.
I prefer the Winter games as well. I will probably watch the opening ceremonies, as they are always spectacular, but not anything afterward.
I'll watch the bikini volleyball. And that's it.
Didn't the IOC committee get booted for buyoffs and corruption? Or am I thinking of the World Soccer people? Or both?
Both, as far as an investigation goes. Not sure if there was any fallout after the IOC fiasco.

What's the going rate on grandmothers these days?
Can't believe that kidnapper is going to profit in the end what with all the nagging and complaining.

I read that a biologist has warned athletes & tourists not to put their heads under water Rio. This is nothing new, there was a 16 month study done and nothing has changed during that time. Don't the people who produce this event owe the athletes more than that? C'mon! The viral levels in the water were 1.7 million times worse than what is considered dangerous in the United States. Their water is not treated and it has raw human sewage in it. *shudders* There's poop in that water!

Story
I can see it now, Poopnado: DiarRIO Disaster.
That would make it moist poop.
Smiley_emoticons_shocked I just heard on the news, that it's costing twelve Billion $$$ (possibly going up to twenty Billion) to put on the Rio olympics? hah
Shit is it worth it? Spend some of that $$$ to clean up the living conditions there!
The Olympics have become a bloated mess thanks to corporate and international greed and political intereference. But as long as people keep watching they'll keep happening.
I may just "blame it on Rio" all day today, anything that goes wrong will be Rio's fault today, yeah that's it..............
