Whitaker is in Trump's pocket. This doesn't bode well for Mueller.
Well, Trump has been all over Sessions' ass for recusing himself from overseeing the Mueller investigation for months on end and even stated that Sessions would likely be out after the midterms. So this is no surprise, but the President sure didn't waste any time.

Sessions followed the law (after 'forgetting' to tell Congress, under oath, about his campaign-era Russia interactions). He obviously had a conflict of interest. But, Trump didn't care then and he doesn't care now.

Trump's been very clear that he doesn't want the Justice Dept to remain independent in the service of the American people, he instead wants the Justice Dept to shield and service him personally.

I've seen Whitaker (Sessions' chief of staff) interviewed a couple of times. He has toed the Trump line in regards to the Mueller investigation, so I guess his interim appointment to replace Sessions shouldn't be surprising either.

Anyway, I suspect Mueller anticipated such a move and planned ahead. I won't be surprised if we see new movement from Mueller's team tomorrow.
And, Sessions remains a witness in the Mueller probe. That could prove even more interesting in light of today's forced resignation.

Shield Trump from what exactly? I mean there has not seemed to be anything there. I expect a few more perjury traps from Mueller but there is no Colluding with a Russia to influence an election in Trump's favour that they were after. It really was never about that and were it so, they would have gone after the DNC. So no it is NOT "very clear" that "he doesn't want the Justice Dept to remain independent in the service of the American people, he instead wants the Justice Dept to shield and service him personally."

"Well why would Trump care?" Well why the fuck WOULDN'T he care? If we were to consider a group of YOUR peers start a nasty malicious rumour about you and continue to feed it every chance they get, you would be pissed off and maybe you would try ignoring it but after a while you would want it gone regardless of the fact it was never true. You are not SCARED of the facts you just don't like people bullshitting about you and pretending untruths about you are fact or even credible.

Mueller has nothing. If all Mueller comes out with is a heap of perjury traps, Trump should pardon each of these and say "They are nothing to do with Russia", just to de-legitimise Mueller in the same way he tried to de-legitimise Trump.

Sessions was not legally obliged to recuse himself.

What everyone is selectively choosing not to address is that there are serious questions as to the basis for the FISA warrants and the Dossier and appointment of a special counsel. What is that expression? Fruit from a Poisoned tree?

I get loopy when I don't get enough sleep and I suspect he's running on maybe 2 or 3 hours a night. He's already suffering some form of dementia so being sleep deprived is making him sound even madder than he already is. Not exactly presidential material.
Just cancel the frickin Twitter Password!! Or pull the plug, what's ever easier! hah hah hah
