So I posted on one of our local social media pages about winter employment. I made a statement saying that a lot of places are hiring and with summer season being over are there places that are looking for help for fall and winter or who are willing to hire temporary.
Took me a while to work up the nerve to post it-I mean I was thinking it could help others also.

I got a personal message from someone asking what kind of work I do. So I told them front desk, customer service, phones, emails. I mean I could have made a list, but that is what I love to do (besides being on the boat of course).
She runs a web design company and basically needs a personal assistant from now until spring.

A friend of mine works for her and has always told me I should apply there. Well, looks like I finally did!

I'm so freaking nervous, I haven't felt this way in a long time. I will meet her next week.
You will do great, you have a good personality and that goes a long way in today's world. Just act like you are walking into a room full of people you have known for 20 yrs. First impressions are the most lasting so smile a lot. Make sure there is no broccoli in your teeth.
Thanks Maggot

You are going to be great at this! The more you get to know your boss the easier the job will become. I won't presume to know what your responsibilities will be, but generally speaking, being a PA is doing much of what your boss doesn't have time to do and/or doesn't want to do.

I want to know how the meeting goes!
I keep reading this as winter jab.
Thats coming too

It went well. The wage is good, the hours are low, just 20, but I could make it work with my other jobs and any side work I take in.
She is quite the person, she has not only 2 internet design companies, but also B&B's.
She needs lots of help getting organized. Some I feel confident in doing, other parts I will have to dig deep! Basically I can set my own hours. She is looking through my resume and references and I should hear back from her by the end of this week.

That's exciting! Interesting for sure. When you say B & B's does that mean Bed & Breakfast? Setting your own hours is huge! You're a dependable young woman, I can tell from many of the things you've said, and being dependable is so much a part of the equation. Many bosses are desperate for that! I look forward to you telling us you've been hired!

I admire the way you hustle, Love Child. You're strong & independent. I love seeing that in women. Girl power.  27
Thank you.
Yes B&B is bed and breakfast. But wait, she said air BnB, interesting tho I don't think she cooks for them. Maybe she does tho-or maybe people can list on Air B&B w/out having to cook...
You will do fine, prepare for Winter and squeeze into you're favorite chair.
I start next week.

Yay
Congratulations!
Hope it turns out just the way want it to! 44

Love025 That's wonderful to read! Work is work, but I hope it's a fun & interesting experience for you.
Would you rub her belly if she asked nice?

What do you think? LOL
Okay-at one point during our initial meeting she was listing all of the things she needed done and then she said "Its like I need a wife!"

WTF how am I supposed to respond to that?! OMG
I mean she laughed after she said it, I chuckled and then I said, "Will you like my cooking?"

So there you go.

She is quite the character, says what is on her mind and swears.
Heh. She needs her life organized. You'll learn to be one step ahead of her so things aren't left to the last minute or forgotten completely. You'll be indispensable to her.
Well I didn't think I would be waking up at 4 AM to begin work. But here I am, I can't sleep so I am getting myself organized.
First job this week is getting a vacation rental ready for guests. It is opening on Thursday. I will be doing lots of shopping and spending lots of $.
