This is where I got my perception and opinion from. Sounds like a bunch of morons to me.

Yeah, sal, I AGREED WITH YOU like twice that some protesters are fucking idiots. Now, I'll agree with you that some are moronic fucking idiots.

I don't agree with you that all protesters are moronic fucking idiots because I know that's false, from firsthand experience. I don't agree with you that people should never go into crowds or protest because there are bound to be some fucking moronic idiots there either. I don't let people like that stop me from doing what I want, though I'll be careful and might choose to avoid or leave some events based on my assessment.

And, I'm cool with you considering me and people like me moronic fucking idiots.

I've never before felt apprehensive about any President having the nuclear codes. I never gave it any thought at all, but I do now. I don't trust Trump's mind nor how it works.

Then I guess its a good thing that he has to meet with the top advisers at the Pentagon and other branches of the military before he can use them. This measure was put into place a very long time ago to ensure the President is of sound mind when the decision is made to launch a deadly missile at somebody. Hilary left that part out of her campaign adds. Takes the drama out of it.

That's not how I've heard it works. There is no meeting to discuss their use. That would sorta defeat their purpose, don't you think.

There's plenty to wade through on the internet, but yeah, there is a check and balance built into the system to ensure a mad man can't start a nuclear war on a whim. And no it defeats no purpose. Separate which scenario you want to discuss. Missiles have been fired at us and we have minutes to react before certain extinction, or I don't trust Trump "with his finger on the button."

I'll come back and argue some more when I find out exactly how that scenario would work.

Like I said, there's a lot to wade through on the internet, but you really need to pick a scenario first. Then start sifting through all of the conspiracy theory bullshit and eventually you will find the truth. Happy hunting.

I don't intend to read conspiracy bullshit at all. I'm not going to wade through bullshit to find what I would be looking for. I'll look for people who know what they are talking about. What the hell, BG. hah

Where did you get the idea that a meeting would take place to decide whether or not to use the codes?
I would think he can't just push a button and blow up the world like Dr. Evil. I think there has to be a secondary confirmation and if both the secretary of defense and vice president say he's not stable to make that decision then the order doesn't have to be carried out. But I don't know what I'm talking about either, that's just my guess.

This is the protocol for a nuclear launch. If you have concerns with clicking on my link, google - bloomberg nuclear launch. The situation would be fluid and fast acting. There is no real time for debate, the President would have only moments to reach a decision. The Smithsonian writes something similar.

It wouldn't matter if the U.S. decided to toss a nuke. That would mean they were coming at us already. They are only there to inhibit other countries and they really have no use at all. Reagan scared them all with his talk of a satellite laser shield that would nullify and explode them before they left another countries airspace but that never happened, I wonder why?

Are you saying you went out on the streets protesting Trump? hah

No one protests around here, but if I had friends that did it I wouldn't call them moronic idiots, or maybe I would depending how close I was to them. The closer I am to someone the more likely I'm to tell them what I really think. Either way I'd think they were silly and tell them that. I just think it's a dumb thing to do, kind of like going to a Cher concert.

No, I'm saying I support the peaceful protesters and understand their fear and anger.

I was in the Castro yesterday. There was a demonstration and some street closures. I walked several blocks to my client's house and went by the Harvey Milk center where gay activists were meeting and planning to fight for their rights in case Trump follows through on potentially challenging them during his administration. I support the gay community fully and volunteered some administrative assistance, as I have in the past.

In my opinion, Trump doesn't give a shit about gay people getting married. He strikes me as more tolerant in that regard than the GOP establishment. However, I share the view of one of the community organizers who spoke yesterday. If Trump delegates a lot of decision-making to his VP Pence, some seriously anti-gay rhetoric and efforts could be launched from the White House. I've posted before about Pence's extreme anti-gay legislation and stances.

And, I have participated in protests several times in the past (mostly in regards to proposed legislation which would harm seniors and veterans). I would not hesitate to do so again if I felt so inclined, even though I have a job, there are some fucking moronic idiots in large protest crowds, and sally at Mock thinks it's silly.

So, I don't share your views on this and I never will. That's all.
Yes, people should be able to protest and have their voices heard, this is what freedom of speech looks like. Dictators hate this sort of thing, because they believe they should be worshiped.

I am surprised he got such a large chunk of the evangelical vote, very surprised. If he supports the gays, then they will run from him, but he is (or the people he pays) not that stupid.

You notice the whole "Pentagon top brass" and "order verified" part? Yeah, that's a check and balance (which I believe is what I said). If your situation is missiles are in the air headed our way, then yes, it can and should happen very quickly. In a situation where a madman has ordered an attack, it would and should move much slower if it were to move at all. Nobody wants to end the world.
Well the are at it in my area now. Earlier, around 5, they stopped traffic on interstate 80 near Iowa City.
You can see the working class white male voters they were talking about in the media in this forum. They think Trump is a guy's guy. He is going to fuck you the way he fucked the campaign.
