Well we did have a black secretary once, but she told me that my husband be coming in there yelling and looking all crazy and she don't play that. So that was the end of that.

WTF would you call that a work husband or wife? Sounds like a coy way of saying someone you'd like to fuck that you work with. Yes, I had a few of those. Didn't do it but we certainly flirted.

Hey, it's not my construct. Google "work spouse" and you'll see... it's a long standing phenomenon.
Wanting to fuck them is secondary

I had a few work husbands before I opened my business. The best one was in my last position. We were both Senior Directors, our teams worked together on every project/product for the company, we saw eye-to-eye... He is Belgian and more soft-spoken with a huge visible stinger when he finally gets pissed. I can smile all the way through a full-on confrontation - good balance. We were the only two executives that had total no-bullshit policies no matter what, which made for some interesting (and in our opinions, hilarious) weekly briefings with the CEO and staff. Worked together several hours a day for 5 years, traveled a lot together, played raquetball twice a week (bastard is pro-level and never gave me a gimme)... Great guy. Still one of my favorite people. No fucking. No line crossing.

Wow Username ...a housekeeper, a gardener and you stay home too? Very cool. Good for you !
I stayed home with mine for several years. I kept other kids along with mine to stay above water. Loved being a full time mom but was no fun being broke as shit, particularly when the kids got out of toddlerhood and started wanting to play soccer and things that cost $...I remember being home with the kids and didn't even have enough money to take them to the mall and get them a cookie...it was like ok, time to go back to work.

Maybe because he got a job so he has something to do now.

She reminded me of Flo from The Jeffersons and stunk the whole office up with garlic crabs everyday for lunch.

An office husband/wife is usually not someone you're married to. They're someone, usually of the opposite sex that takes care of you at work. You hang out, you get each other lunch, you help each other out, you bring each other coffee or water, etc. Sort of like what you do with your spouse or partner at home only it isn't a sexual or emotionally charged relationship.

You're not getting any sex, but everyone in the office talks about you and say that you are banging in the broom closet during break.

I think they can be emotionally charged relationships actually... in some cases you can spend more time with your work husband/wife than you do your own.

fuck me. The intent of this thread keeps morphing. I've had plenty of work wives if that's what you're talking about, but they were all poor seconds to my real wife.
