Remember the lawmaker from NM who wanted to prosecute women seeking abortions after being raped? Here's another one just like her - dumb. A child is not an organ.

Alabama state Rep. Mary Sue McClurkin is pushing legislation that would impose restrictions on abortion clinics -- a move that she argues is necessary because the procedure is a major surgery that removes the largest "organ" in a woman's body.

“When a physician removes a child from a woman, that is the largest organ in a body,” McClurkin told the Montgomery Advertiser on Thursday. “That’s a big thing. That’s a big surgery. You don’t have any other organs in your body that are bigger than that.”

Some of these people are pushing new bills referred to as personhood bills. They argue that undeveloped zygotes are people too.

I don't care about her stupid legislation, I'm mocking her for calling it an organ removal.

I don't know, an organ is group of tissues which perform a function which in this case would be life. She was speaking metaphorically when she said it's a major surgery involving the largest organ in a women's body.

A developing, living being inside a woman's body is an organ. And it is the largest on a whole different scale, I'm not sure why anyone would need that explained to them unless they're stupid and have bad hair.

I guess that it depends on how late the abortion is performed. I bet many liberals would not mind seeing abortions as late as 4 months and 5 months. That is what may be at stake, the progressive actions of abortions and what would be acceptable 5 yrs down the road. Today its unacceptable but maybe not in the future. It's a bad scene at any rate when responsibility is taken out of the equation.

A spleen is an organ that serves a function in a woman's body that you can do without. A fetus doesn't serve any function in a woman's body. It's purely there to...incubate and grow.

I know that sounds cold but that's how I see it.

I would have no problem with restrictions on abortions after a certain stage. I'm not sure where that is but probably pretty damn early. 10-12 weeks? I dunno but I would never support late term abortions except in cases of some major problems with the baby or maybe if the life of the mother was in jeopardy.

Its a thing that future generations will tackle. And a baby is NOT an organ it is a seperate life. If a person murders a Mother it is dbl homicide.

It does perform a function inside a woman's body, the function is to procreate which is why we are here. Even if you don't look at it that way, it's still a mass of life which God made perfect.

Coming from a useless human, as well as pro choice in just keeping the government out of MY body, I agree with at what point in time do you draw the line.

Funny thing I have realized in my area of the country, the ones that are ONLY PROLIFE always seem to be the ones that are AGAINST any government help in raising an unwanted fetus.

Personally I saw bring back orphananges if you can't afford the baby and have to depend on ANY government assistance. I never could afford to pay for a birth much less actually raising a child so I choose not to procreate. Guess that makes me worthless and useless.....
