THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY
The first 100 day is just a number to use it as a barometer would be foolish, Trump has taken the economy and sent it up there is no doubt about that. Last year productivity growth was at 0% for 2 quarters.

The porous borders have been turned into a trickle just by enforcing the immigration laws, the way its going a wall may not be needed, but the rhetoric of a wall is certainly a deterrent for the future planned illegal vacations into the U.S. its a start.

Trump is not a wall street guy he earned his money dealing with local politicians and state governments not the CEO of Ford or GMC. He is a small business guy no matter what he owns or is worth. The celebration by the small business organizations have not even begun to be realized.

The Obama care repeal was rushed and the details were just not there, a failure but maybe next time he will dot his "i's" and cross his "t's"

Tax reform is the most important topic besides foreign relations. At least he will not go on an "apology" tour and ask for forgiveness, nor refuse to place sanctions where they are due whether they are aimed at the Russians, Assad, Kim or the anyone else that threaten Americas interest's or livelyhoods.

I really hope the tax reforms go through but cannot see it happening for another 6-8 months or so.

I think he has done well for what was handed to him IMHO.

All the left can do is bitch about Twitter, I think its great, it keeps them busy and out of the way.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

If all you're hearing from the left is bitching about Twitter, Mags, then you're not listening at all.

I don't hear a lot about Twitter anymore. Off the top of my head, I do hear a lot of worry from the left, the center, and some on the right about...

- going backwards in terms of healthcare access and essential benefits,
- one page tax reform plans that will definitely benefit the wealthiest and may hurt the middle class,
- farmers who've offered 401ks and $25 per hour and still can't get American citizens to work the fields and now have fewer options to stay afloat,
- campaign and presidential advisers who've withheld or lied about breaching security and ethics protocols,
- manufacturing plants in Ohio which are actively recruiting Muslim Syrian refugees because 20% of American applicants fail the drug tests,
- a president who campaigned on non-interventionism and against regime change now pushing for regime change in Syria and upping the tension with North Korea,
- a president who's made his non-elected kids more powerful in the administration than anyone else, like a monarchy,
- a president who keeps re-living and re-litigating the election and won't take responsibility for failures,
- an enormous tax-payer cost for Secret Service coverage, due to separate living quarters for the President and first lady + weekly travel for golf in another state,
- conflicts of interest with promoting Trump businesses in the course of leading the country,
- complete 180s by the president when it comes to Mexico paying for the wall, labeling China a currency manipulator, working with Assad, reset with Russia...
- disregard by the administration for important environmental protections,
- lack of diplomatic expertise and efforts within the administration,
- a promise to bring coal miners back their jobs when coal is on the way out due to market factors and changing times, and retraining for cleaner energy jobs would be better for people in coal country
- Etc...

I hear a lot more about the issues than I do about President Trump's silly tweets at this point.

And.........as is the case with those I listen to on the right...

-I'm happy my stock value has increased since Trump was elected,
-I'm glad Trump has continued Obama's focus on deporting non-documented felons and that illegal entry into the country has gone down,
-I respect and trust McMaster,
- (While I'd rather have a less conservative Supreme Court justice than Gorsuch) I acknowledge that Gorsuch is extremely qualified and don't believe the Dems were wise in forcing the nuclear option over his nomination,
-I want to see useless regulations dumped and small businesses thrive,
-Etc...

If you really listen to what all sides are saying, it's much more enlightening than only listening to people who think like you do and inaccurately characterizing everyone else due to ignorance, a false sense of moral or intellectual superiority, and animosity.

Free your mind.

You say that like he was handed the type of America that Bush handed Obama. hah You funny.

...and just for the record, trump touted his first hundred days before he was even elected, he was gonna do this, he was gonna do that and it was all going to be fantastic. *snicker*

I always think of you when I hear him talk about regulations & taxes in regards to small business. I know a tiny bit about how those things have affected you as a business owner and I hope what he gets accomplished is a tremendous help to you. I really do, HotD.

Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch trump has invited President Duterte to the White House. This is a man who has been known to brag about personally killing suspects without a trial.

I can see why trump would be drawn to him. He said this while still mayor and campaigning for the presidency - "I saw her face and I thought, 'What a pity... they raped her, they all lined up. I was mad she was raped but she was so beautiful. I thought, the mayor should have been first."

Idiots like Trump and Duterte get elected because shit got so bad people don't care anymore about decorum, only results.

I am completely against those who violate basic human rights being invited into the people's house. It's an honor to be invited there and people like Duterte are not worthy!

He could have just gone to the Philippines like Obama went to Cuba I suppose.

I saw a cartoon that showed Obama declaring that state funding would be withheld from states that didn't allow people to use the bathroom they felt more aligned with. John Q Public said cool, great.
In the next panel Trump threatened to withhold federal funding to sanctuary cities for not upholding the laws already in existence. John Q. Public screamed "unconstitutional"

It sums up nicely what Trump is facing as he stands up to the Pubs, Dems, Progressives, and the status quo. I'm happy to see the bitching, it means he's on the right path.

When you posture your replies as being the only one that listens to both sides and that I or anyone else does not, it does not declare your moral superiority as compared to others but only shows your ignorance in the belief that only you have the intellectual ability to decipher both sides of the shit show.

I don't think I'm the only Maggot one, far from it. A lot of people here and other people with whom I talk about politics naturally consider all sides. I'm specifically addressing YOU. And, I definitely don't believe that I'm morally or intellectually superior to you or others who can't or won't consider things objectively. I'm just telling it like it is.

Your posts reflect a pattern of deafness to points coming from the 'left' or the 'libs' or the 'Dems', as if they aren't able to 'decipher' the real truth like you.........while frequently swallowing, defending and regurgitating inane bullshit that's flung from people you support or consider on 'your side'. That's a fact jack. 27

Making America great again - Republicans have the White House, they control the House & the Senate and in regards to the funding agreement Lindsay Graham just said "I think the Democrats cleaned our clock". 115

President Trump is reportedly hoping to get more support on the latest iteration of the healthcare reform bill by making major concessions in the budget. He's far short of the necessary support to pass that bill, however. When the administration gives in to the Freedom Caucus on some healthcare reform points, it drives away support from some more centrist Republicans. Tricky.

Anyway, some conservatives are frustrated that President Trump has backed off his longtime demands for immediate funding for a wall on the Mexican border in the spending bill, along with backing off on his plans to cut Environmental Protection Agency funding and funding to “sanctuary” cities. The Democrats have good reason to celebrate.

So much of all of this is just so fuckin' surreal. Sometimes it's like nothing matters any more and there is no place for the truth.

I laugh about a lot of it because I don't want to feel snarky & pissy. The past couple days I've been in absolute awe over comments made by trump and Spicer about Kim Jong-un and Wibur Ross saying the Syria bombing was after dinner entertainment. What the fuckity fuck.

...and not to mention, Andrew Jackson and the Civil War stuff. Jeez Louise.
