When my ex husband was young  ( think late 70's early 80's)  his parents were driving back from Disney,  and they got caught in the wrong lane for a couple of hours.    Everytime they tell the story, it reminds me of Chevy Chase's European vacation.

If ya aren't paying attention sometimes you can get caught on the mountain passes out here when they are doing rock blasting. I almost called a friend once to deliver us a pizza.

I know how that happens and then I have to listen to my bitch in the box repeatedly say "recalculating". I now go out of my way to avoid driving the Beltway. Fuck that shit. The time I would be saving by driving it is just not worth the anxiety.

I kept getting looped into the lincoln tunnel thought I was going to have a mental breakdown. So I changed my destination to a restaurant we had gone to then to the hotel.

I know nothing of this beltway.

But for some reason instead of putting my home address into GPS I always put the local theater or the putt putt golf course or something like that because you know I don't want to put my home address in GPS paranoia.

It's the Capitol Beltway, it surrounds DC and includes parts of Maryland & Virginia. It's several lanes of traffic all running 80+ MPH. As I'm typing this I am recalling the death grip I have on the steering wheel.  hah  I don't know why I'm laughing, I am never amused by it.
