I'm not assuming that Trump cares about this beyond his ability to leverage it for political gain, so I don't care what he did or didn't do. I'm interested in why Biden made the problem worse.
I’m guessing Biden waited probably for the same reason that Trump squashed the legislation. He wanted a month or two to run on the fact that Trump was fucking up fixing the border problems by halting the bill. ?
As far as people coming in before being processed I think/thought that they’re basically assigned a case number (again the “temporary status I referenced before) so they were a little bit processed, lol.

Biden should have acted sooner during the huge influx in his first couple years. But Trump shouldn’t have squashed the bill and Biden isn’t the candidate anymore.

I'm not asking about Trump, I know all about his deficiencies. I'm asking why the Biden admin allowed aliens to enter before being vetted? I understand that when the election rolled around he backtracked, but for most of his term the policy was to allow entry without vetting, making a preexisting problem far worse. Clearly that was a priority for the administration, and don't tell me it's because they're humanitarians.

Oh Jeebus. I looked up the “vetting process” that you’re referring to and I don’t see where Biden (who isn’t a candidate for POTUS so this is somewhat irrelevant) stopped the vetting process but it’s clear it wasn’t done thoroughly and there were a lot of “get aways” for a period of time (people that got across the border illegally/without going through CBP). But is that ur concern? That, in fact, as Trump likes to say we’ve been flooded with “murderers, rapists and escapees from insane asylums”? Please show me the data that says that unvetted immigrants are driving up crime rates and/or are more likely to commit crimes than citizens? You can’t because it’s not happening. California has a huge population of immigrants (legal and not) and I’ll tell u, they’re not the ones participating in “smash and grabs” at retail stores or stealing cars in SF. They’re the ones waiting outside Home Depot hoping for some day work, working as gardeners and car washes and restaurants and in agriculture. It’s the white guys sitting on the corner with a dog and a sign that says “need money for food” and committing far more crimes.

Pfft.

It's poor minorities who are getting screwed over the worst because the influx means greater competition for social services that are inadequate, but all you think about are racist Trumpers.

While we're on the topic of smash and grabs why don't you explain how that is also Trump's fault. Don't be shy.

Didn’t/don’t blame Trump for smash and grabs. I’ve said we’re “too blue” in California and it was stupid that we made shoplifting a mere misdemeanor for under $900 or something. That’s changing (returning back to making lower dollar amounts felonies) but I don’t blame Trump or Harris for that. It’s a social media illness (in that people call for these mass attacks) and I don’t think our laws were good and again I think it’s a resources issue.

I haven’t heard about citizens competing with non citizens for social services (last I heard Trump said they were stealing jobs). And I’ll say it a god damn-again that I don’t disagree that illegal immigration is a problem (ur talking to ur hand—everybody knows that FFS). Are you really that dumb that u think only republicans can see the problems there?!?!

I feel u!!! I wish I could just look forward to the election being over and not care so much but I can’t. This feels way worse than 2016 and even 2020 because we learned what Trump was truly capable of leading up to January 6th and after (and even more since then). I can’t shrug it off like “oh well, so we have 4 years of a mild weirdo and then we’ll return to some sanity/civility/stability”. That’s long gone. He truly freaks me out.

Same.
And I feel even if Kamala wins it will be such a big shit show.
At this point I don't think they are voting for Trump, they are voting for Vance and non abortions and whatever else.
Trump could walk around naked, call people names, fuck whoever, kill whoever and it wouldn't matter at this point.

How terrible do you have to be to not be able to beat a shitstain like Trump?

RE: 2024 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES - Carsman - 10-29-2024

One Shitstain against another Shitstain!

The next 4 years are going to be a BUMPY RIDE, either Shitstain.  Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch

RE: 2024 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES - Duchess - 10-29-2024

There ya go equating them both again. They aren't alike, they aren't even similar. There is nothing about them that is equatable.

Bloviating blowhard versus cackling hyena

RE: 2024 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES - Duchess - 10-29-2024

She isn't dangerous like trump is, but you already know this and don't care.

Have you ever heard the saying "can't see the forest for the tree"?

Nuclear Armageddon is the biggest threat to the world

RE: 2024 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES - rothschild - 10-29-2024

What do you think the biggest threat to the world is?

RE: 2024 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES - rothschild - 10-29-2024

Maybe it's global oligarchy. We're more than halfway there at this point.

RE: 2024 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES - Duchess - 10-29-2024

Y'all do understand that if trump wins, and personally I think that's a pretty big if, it will affect the world, not just our country.

RE: 2024 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES - rothschild - 10-29-2024

America effects the world regardless of which party controls the presidency, and not in a good way. Regardless of who wins the election, the billionaire class is set to have it's way, and that's what frightens me.

She doesn't understand that and isn't even willing to try.

I ask myself everyday “who ARE these Trump supporters?”. There’s a huge number of them who want to Make America White Again. My Latino gardener who became a citizen in January said he plans to vote for Trump because he thinks semi automatic weapons ought to be legal everywhere in the U.S. He’s an avid hunter but since I don’t speak Spanish I haven’t been able to understand why/when he uses his semi automatic that he bought in another state. But almost to a person, my husband’s wealthiest clients (including a couple billionaires in there that I’ve spoken with) support Trump. So I’ve got racists, gun nuts and greedy folks. The breadth of his support is staggering but what bothers me more is he’s retained it (even grown it) despite his despicable actions and behavior. I don’t know how people overlook that even if far prefer his policies.

The problem is the GOP. Hats off to the Republicans who have dumped him since 2020 and shame on those that haven’t.

This is just an observation--the closer we get to Election Day, the darker trump's face gets.

Agreed. It’s burnt orange bordering on rust at this point.

That gets you off the hook.

Why take responsibility for building a party that unites enough people to establish clean politics when you can blame the wolves for not playing nice, right?
