The abortion amendment didn't pass here, I am upset about that. Fucking bullshit. Legalization of marijuana didn't pass either, but according to my husband that is good for him and the strength of his medical marijuana.

Surprised about the abortion amendment but then I read this about Florida:
“The measure needed a 60 percent supermajority to pass, the highest threshold in the country. No abortion measure to date has passed with 60 percent of the vote.
Florida was one of 10 states voting on abortion-related ballot measures Tuesday. All the others needed a simple majority to pass”.
Interesting that Florida required a super majority not required in any other state.
6 weeks is ridiculous. Before Roe v Wade was overturned I wouldn’t have been terribly appalled by some limits (12 weeks? 14 weeks?). I never thought about a number and always thought the health of the mother and genetic/health issues with the baby should be a factor but 6 weeks? And IDK Florida law but some states threatening to prosecute people that go out of state? Disturbing.
I want to visit Florida but it seems (present company maybe excluded) like a really fucking uptight state. Maybe cuz of the old people. Everybody that lives there needs to get laid.

I put something in there about Florida being the only state that required a super majority to pass an abortion amendment. It’s passed in every other state that’s had one but wouldn’t have in all of them if a super majority were required.
So I wondered why/how Florida is so uptight and speculated that the whole state needs to get laid (might not be realistic with the older population, lol). And why is Florida unique in requiring that super majority?
Actually all those people were around when Roe V Wade was passed. You’d think they’d be as opposed to the abortion ban as much as anyone.

No, I did not vote. I preferred Trump because I think his policies sound more likely to benefit me financially, I ain't trying to pay more than I already do. Goddamn. Other than that I don't have any emotional investment because it's all the same bullshit. I know some people will be crying tonight, however, and I would never want to make them feel bad or gloat about something they feel will negatively impact their own lives.

Going to bed assuming Trump will win (with the calls so far). If so…I think the only thing that will REALLY leave me twisted up is his gaining the ability to pardon himself and fire the special prosecutor (and potentially pardon those convicted for 1/6). I mean…there are a lot of other reasons I didn’t want him to be POTUS again but just that leaves me sick. I think because I tend to think that was a big reason he ran again and really wanted/needed to win.
Oh well.
I can’t even hope he dies in office cuz J.D. as POTUS? *face/palm*
