It wasn't always that way, in the late 70's and early eighties hud homes were pretty nice and all grouped into sub divisions, they were mostly being built for single moms and low income couples, they were not bad homes, I did the floors in hundreds of them during that time.

I couldn't qualify for one because I made to much money working in them.

since that time the laws governing HUD homes have changed and they are no longer being built to satisfy the need of the american dream to own a home, they are being built under the umbrella of the equal rights ammendment. single moms can still qualify just behind minorities of race. a person no longer needs to show an income even with the adjusted payments to qualify, many of these homes today are paid for entirely by tax payer money.

Able bodied white man? black man or Hispanic man? an able bodied white man would not qualify we don't qualify for anything in the welfare ,assistance domain.

If it is a white man does he have children? sometimes the kids can qualify.

edit 1/10/11 to add: i found out they no longer live there. the HUD housing was in girlfriend's name, she never disclosed he was living there. because of his arrests/drugs, they were kicked out of the house.

I am not going to get into the "donate because I can't pay my bills" loop. About 20% of Americans are in danger of losing their homes because they are delinquent on their mortgage. Who can afford to bail all those folks out?

The I-can't-afford-what-I-buy folks are jacking up our economy. You shouldn't get all the goodies if you don't put in the work. It is a self-supporting system that our president doesn't seem to understand. If you give something to someone, they will fuck it up. If they have to work for it, they are more likely to maintain it.

I like the new bill proposed that will NOT make children of illegals automatic citizens if both of their parents are illegal and they don't serve in the military. It's kinda sad we need to change this basic American principle, but it's time. I'm sick of paying for Mexico and a half-dozen African countries because they are too fucked up to pay for themselves. I went to the pot museum in Amsterdam. It was a thing of beauty. My mouth hung open the entire time. By the time I left Holland, I couldn't look at a spliff for a good year. hahahaha Now that I don't smoke, I don't feel the need to procure any of it. If I were in a country where it was decriminalized, I might partake on occasion, but I wouldn't be a regular user. It makes me lazy.

I have a very successful life, both personally & professionally & I smoke weed most days. My brain function is just peachy, thankyouverymuch.
