Do you agree with this list - http://unrealitymag.com/index.php/2008/1...-suicides/
I had the Shawshank one higher then 3, but I agree with the top 5 being great movie suicides in general.

Without looking at the list I want to say, "Thelma & Louise"...I know it's an old movie but, I haven't really watched a film in a very long time...I loved that movie.
Number 6 - Fallen. Definitely a great movie and suicide.
Full Metal Jacket was a pretty gruesome one, but I don't think it should be #1.

I have only seen one movie on that list...Damn
Duchess Wrote:I have only seen one movie on that list...Damn Check out Fallen, Dutch. It's creepy without being gruesome. One of those things that if you stretch your imagination a bit, you think the scenario in the movie just might be possible. And Denzel is always good. Along with Donald Sutherland, John Goodman, and James Gandolfini. ::thumbs::

I didn't read the list so if this is in there fine, agree or not.
I think the girl killing herself on film in The Life and Times of David Gale was pretty fucked up.
I was watching this movie one sleepless night in bed instead of staring at the ceiling trying to fall back asleep. The bf woke up briefly and saw it, got completely disturbed by it because he wasn't quite awake and had nightmares for weeks from what he saw. He woke up right in the middle of that scene! I finally got him to watch it start to finish a year later.

Lame list. I would have put Christopher Walken / Deer Hunter high on the list. Also high on the listwould beJohn Leguizamo/ Kill Point. How about the suicide at the end of One Flew Over The Coocoo Nest?

It isn't even on the list!

It's quite disturbing to watch even if you are prepared isn't it?
Seems everyone has gone for the gore factor when disturbing is the more brutal mindfuck.

Seems everyone has gone for the gore factor when disturbing is the more brutal mindfuck. It really is! I don't go for gratuitous gore. If it is creepy and makes my skin crawl, that is much better than slasher-type bullshit movies. But gore that isn't gratuitous; say, likein Braveheart, is fine. But that's not a creepy movie. What is disturbing IS the mindfuck, like in Saw!!!

My favourite film suicide hasn't been made yet.
I am still waiting for it all being too much for Sinister and she finally snaps and tapes footage of herself sucking the barrel of her AK.
We need to punish the French, ignore the Germans and forgive the Russians - Condoleezza Rice.

I really hate to disappoint you, fuckwit, but I have too much to live for. Taking you out is one of those things.
Besides, if I was gonna do it, it sure wouldn't be with the AK. You really know nothing about guns. I forgot; you're afraid of them, that's right.

I totally "get" the premise of Mock but, OP, your mindset is more disturbing than any film suicide I will ever see...Some of the things you say are downright insane...I find you to be a very scary man with some of the thoughts that you present here.

While I understand your meaning, Dutch, I wouldn't give him so much credit as to say he is scary. Yanno what I mean?

Yes, Sin, I know what you mean, I even hesitated before I typed that but, I do find the way he thinks scary, it disturbs me that a seemingly "normal" man would have such hideous thoughts, this isn't the first time I've seen him say something like that...Ok, I'll admit it, he creeps me the hell out.

Creeping you out is precisely his intention. Just be glad there's a big ol' ocean between you!
Me; I think it's all an act. I think he a huge phoney of the first order. It's all bullshit keyboard commando fake machismo. He's so full of shit it is laughable. He's a pussy in real life, so online he plays a tough guy. He reeks of pigshit.
