On Wednesday, witnesses testified that the Army psychiatrist shouted “Allahu Akbar!” — “God is Great!” in Arabic — before unleashing a volley of gunfire in a center where soldiers from around the country were preparing to deploy overseas.

The guy that tried to break in to an airplane cockpit a week or so ago shouted "Allah Akbar" too but that doesn't make it a coordinated terrorist attack.
My original point to Concerned was I said that Al Qaeda is largely disorganized and they haven't pulled off a major, coordinated terrorist attack in the U.S. since 9/11. I didn't dismiss Al Qaeda but I said individual fanatics are a greater concern.
No deaths are "acceptable" but honestly Dick, you have to look at this a little bit objectively. Either Al Qaeda has been unable to put something substantial together or our intelligence has been good or we're geographically fortunate but, back to the OP, I think Al Qaeda will have a difficult time coordinating some major attack against the U.S.--particularly here in the United States.
And even if that guy was associated with Al Qaeda (in his beliefs) while I mourn those that lost their lives or were wounded, what we've experienced here (9/11 excluded) is a miraculously small loss of life when you look at what's happening in the rest of the world.
We're in a war on terror and yet people freak out when we lose a dozen or a hundred lives. And yet earlier generations suffered through WWI and WWII. I *wish* no lives were ever lost in this war but damn, sometimes I feel like we've turned in to a country of pussies. War is hell.
