(CNN) -- The funeral for pop superstar Whitney Houston will be held Saturday at her childhood New Jersey church, according to the owner of the funeral home handling the arrangements.

The service is set for noon at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, according to Carolyn Whigham of Whigham Funeral Home.

The private ceremony is open to invited guests only, Whigham said. Reporters must remain outside. Houston's burial will also be private.
