I've got so many favorite trees that I'm almost a druid.
The shape of this tree is similar to the shape of a hickory tree I tied in a knot when it was a sapling. I wonder if something unusual happened to the white oak when it was small.
Unfortunately many people are so stupid they just wouldn't think twice about something like using a living tree for a hearth. The hell of it is you can get twenty years for killing a rabbit in your garden but trees have almost no protection at all.
