36,171 flu-related deaths occur each year in the U.S.... that's just the regular flu that the CDC hasn't called a pandemic. I'm wondering if this panic might not be a mite premature.

I think it's premature, it has the same symptoms of the regular flu and you have the same risk of dying from it as the regular flu. But it's a different strain and jumps easily from human to human which means it could possibly mutate into some crazy shit that you definitely don't want to catch ::blink::
