Sending prayers and praying to god

Maybe it's just me but when I see people IMMEDIATELY break out that "I'm praying to god everything is alright and I want everyone else to say a little prayer as well" I start getting annoyed.

For one thing, it's like they're trying to show what very caring people they are, more so that ANYONE ELSE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! Because they have to be the first ones to say they said a prayer, like god won't listen to anyone else unless it comes directly from them.

Also... don't you think god might be a little too busy to pay attention to a bunch of [color="red"]online idiots that supposedly send prayers if someone has a bad day and begs for sympathy from the rest of the forum because they had a paper cut? [/color]Seriously, shut the fuck up.

What got me started on this was Gangrene's response to the Balloon Boy thread. Immediate 'oh my god, my prayers are with the family!' without considering how stupid the story was and how she's throwing prayers around without knowing what the fuck was really going on. And this is the same toxic bitch that hoped some disgruntled homeless GI with nothing to lose would take out Obama. How does someone this hateful reconcile this ridiculous knee jerk reaction to pray for everything? Insanity? Senile dementia?
