In all fairness, we've been telling ourselves a big damn lie about our own greatness for 75 years now, and all empires decline. The question is, how long will it take us to learn humility again and how many will die before it happens.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.
