But, not that it was a mistake, instead "normal adjustments, happen all the time -- nothing to see" sorta thing from Sean Spicer.
Others view any lifting of sanctions for any reason as a bad move given the increased violence in Crimea at the moment and the fact that the U.S. is backing the Ukranian troops against the Russians.
Eye of the beholder. Whatever the case, I'm glad that the new U.N. Ambassador Nicki Hailey came straight out today and said that none of the sanctions put on Russia as a direct result of their intervention in the Ukraine will be lifted until Russia recognizes that Crimea is part of the Ukraine (my paraphrase). Those specific sanctions are more important to me.
I wondered if maybe the timing of both announcements today was strategic -- Trump giving Putin a little something positive to feed the Russian media in terms of 'easing' / 'relaxing' / 'lifting' / 'tweaking' one Obama sanction........ right before Hailey made her statement which negates what Trump intimated about possibly recognizing Crimea as part of Russia during his campaign.
